bad alternator at 32k

i am beginning to get sick of all the problems occuring with my car... it seems like nissan has it every other week because **** keeps breaking. my alternator went bad a couple of days ago out of nowhere (my car only has 32k) - thank god i have a backup vehicle! i also probably need a new engine... my car is consuming more than 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles... WHERE IS YOUR QUALITY CONTROL NISSAN? i am either going to buy an extended warranty or trade in for something else... i love my car but this is getting to the point of absurdity! (im on my 4th BOSE head unit as well)

the point of this is... what might cause an alternator to go bad at such low mileage?

Being a victim of this also. I think nissan has a similar problem to the coils with their alternators.

Have you considered upgrading to an AM alternator? Irragi makes some powerhouse ALTs...if I had the dinero, I would most certainley upgrade to a +150A alt...

take it to an alternator shop and have them rebuild it properly.

not only that, but ive seen alternators go out sooner than that.

About the oil issue. A lot of people have the same problem. Take it to the stealership and see what can be done.

i've posted in your oil consumption thread... the stealership told me to drive it for another week and make a log of the oil level/mileage every day (to save them time? lol)
hopefully the engine will just die altogether so i wont have to ***** about a new one with no basis other than oil burning... there is probably permanent damage since i ran it for at least a week with about a quart of oil and did not know
