FCC ID number for 2000 keyless remote
Could somebody please take a look at the back of their keyless remote and give me the FCC ID number off the back of the remote so I can be sure I'm buying the correct one?
Also, I'm wondering how to program the remote. I did a search on google, but came up with nothing.
Any clues here?
Thanks!

No, there are instructions on how to program a remote somewhere on the org. Search for it, I found it once also. Hm......... I dunno how to tell which number is the right one for a Max. There are two or three different models that look the same, I bought one off of ebay and it didn't work, then got another which did. I return the first one for another and now they both work. Programming is simple, takes like a minute.

Also bought one from dealer ID:nhvbu427 (apparently updated), they both work. I programmed both. Use yahoo link in sticky at top to search maxima.org for instructions.

Remote for a 2001 GXE
Hello, I just bought another key for my 2001 GXE for $30 from the dealer. The dealer wants $110 for ONE remote including programming. Is there any other way I can buy my own (one from ebay) and program it myself.
What should I do first to go about purchasing one, what information is needed and where do I get that information?
What to do after I get the remote to work, basically how to program it?
This is my first post in this forum, so far so good as from what I see. Replies to my answer will tell me how you this forum compares up to other great ones on the net.

The only way to do it is to find a shop that can program it. It does not necessarly need to be a nissan place. I had mine done with 2 keys for 50 bucks total at the local DMV shop. Theres a guy that works right outside of the DMV and he has a ton of business especially for german cars.

for the fob all you need to do is go on ebay buy one, it's cheap like 30-40 bucks for 2 of them, and it comes with instruction to program it....all you need is your key. Just stick it in the ignition a couple of times light flashes, press some buttons and your done. I believe you gotta program every single of of them again each time you program one. the keys...i do'nt know if haven't found anyone that are able to program it but the dealer...wish i could find someone...someone from chicago help me with this it would be nice

I had a new key made in chicago. It costed $65 + tax for key and programming it. I had one of the originals. My original key didn't even work in the trunk, but the replacement does. I had it done at a locksmith. As for the remote, I'm still working on it. The dealer I called wouldn't give me the number. Said it was discontinued and I have to get a new model and have them program it. I do have programing instructions, I just need the right FOB rantyb

Hey rantyb look up my old posts regarding the fob numbers when I was trying to figure it out I finally found a chart that had the numbers on it.
Edit: I am bored, here you go http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...t-program.html
