Redline is 6500 rpm. When I floor it, mine gets to just about there before it shifts.

Its the TCMs fault...not the ECU. All automatic maximas are programmed to shift that way when left in "D" (not sure about the 04's with the 5AT).

I'm pretty sure it's 6000RPM since I'm flooring my car every now and then on a daily basis.

thats where mine shifts if i leave it in drive most of the time. that is according the tach but with my obd software it actually ends up shifting around 5800-5900. i know it its not that much of a difference but worth mentioning to display tach error. i have actually had 2 tcms in my 01 but even the updated one shifts too early for my liking.

Yeah, the peak power of VQ30DE-K is produced at 6400RPM, a primary reason why the auto slower than the 5-speed manual version.

That has very little, if anything, to do with it.

It's related to drivetrain loss, gear ratios, and torque from 1-3k rpm.

Reprogramming TCM = Impossible at this time, so the answer is a firm no
