Another source of "lost oil"

When I had my plugs done at 60k I discovered that the valve cover spark plug tube gasket seals (the rubber things that keep oil from getting into the plug tubes) were leaking on the back head. The front was clean. There was a good amount of oil pooled up inside the back three plug tubes, though, enough to get the plugs and the coil boots wet with oil.

This has happened to a lot of the 4th Gen VQ30DE's (myself included). Did you fix those seals yet?

It's a PITA to do the job - since you have to pull the plenum and everything in it's way off the car to get to the rear valve cover.... I did mine 3k miles ago on my 4th Gen adn one of the seals has popped completely out of the valve cover... WTF!! I did all three seals the same way, using genuine Nissan parts - so I'm not sure what I did wrong... I've just been putting off doing it again...

I've heard it's a common problem with our cars. I only had one plug coated with oil. I guess it was a tbsp. of oil. Not worth my time to fix. The plug itself was dry so I wasn't worried.
