its cheap and easy to put in so i'll be happy if i get 5 hp out of it. the site says 15, but thats hard to believe.

It's was dynoed and showed a 4hp gain. That was with a aftermarket exhaust setup.

I believe a K&N drop in filter will give you a 4hp increase on it's own. The OSCAI gives around 10, give or take. (varies on where you have your intake mounted.) Which means I have around 236 engine hp. You wont feel just the K&N. You WILL notice a significant difference with the K&N/OSCAI setup.

2 different K&N products!!
The "drop in" K&N filter was dyno'ed at +4 Hp with a HKS exaust. Uses stock air box.
The "filtercharger" is the cone setup and I have not seen one dyno'd for a max. Removes stock airbox.
The drop in will give you less than +4hp. Either way it is a minor gain.
OCAI will help a little at speeds but will not show up on a dyno (no ram air) but will affect 1/4 times.

The filtercharger is not the cone. It's a term that K & N uses for their technology. My panel filter has the word filtercharger on it.

mostly take...
I have the Place Racing CAI, and its not a 10 HP mod.
If you have some dyno sheets to back it up, then I'll believe it, but until then we'll stick with the +4 HP

Guess it all depends on your definition of "plenty"
I still don't see it adding 10 HP. The "ram air set up" you are refering to just faces the front of your tubing towards the incoming air. It still has to go throught the filter. I believe that SCC did an article where they put in a KN airfilter in the stock box and it produced a 4 HP increase. They got curious and took the filter out completely and got a dyno result of 5 HP. Only a 1 HP difference between the KN and an open intake. As with another thread here, they are descibing how a 1 HP difference is insignificant. (meaning that it is statiscally not justified to say this way is better) Now your saying that by adding your tubing to your car and facing forward towards the front for a "ram air set up" is gonna produce 5-6 HP at the wheels? Sorry guys ... I'll have to see it to believe it.
If it does, then great and I really want it to add this power, but once again I don't see it.

well, i got the filter.
it smooths out the high end very nicely. the kick comes in more evenly, and the engine gets a bit stronger. its noticable.
on the way back from kragen, with the filter in, i got pulled over doing 55 in a 35 zone. got a ticket. second ticket in 3 weeks. since im under 17, i think im gonna get my license suspended.
**** THA POLICE!

As far as the dyno proven to produce 4hp, you could say the same about farting into your intake. Simply do your first run while farting into the OSCAI and then take your second run with no farting. Wow, a 4hp difference (which of course is really due to the temperature increase on your second run). So you could conclude that farting into your intake makes 4hp! Now if there was only a way we could permanently mount an a$$ to our OSCAI, we'd really be putting down some power!!!
My point is when we get down to minimal gains of 4hp, the method you use to dyno can significantly influence the results. This is very reminicant of people claiming that Mobil 1 oil added a dyno proven 2hp. Fact is, our cars aren't even that repeatable.
