Sticky? Fog Light/Headlight Comparison Thread
Parking Light = Autolumination Super White LED 194/168
Headlight = 6000k D2R
Sidemarker for those that wondered are Polarg M4 bulb White 194/168 they matched very well with stock 4300k headlights.
Fogs are tinted, and I don't use them much lol. Otherwise stock H3 bulbs.

^ I disagree Irish, they can look fine in the fogs, it's when you put em in the headlights designed for halogen housings that things get hairy.
I love my HID fogs... just need to change the colour because HIDextra is TERRIBLE

I have never heard of "H3 minis"
H3 is a size and type of bulb, they must meet a certain size parameter, as well as mounting, etc. It's a generic/universal thing. An H3 is an H3, where did you get this 'mini' thing from? In short, any H3 bulb will fit.

I have heard of H3 mini, they are shorter for better clearance. Would have to verify if there are H3 HID mini bulbs.
IMO, I love my HID fogs on my 2003 maxima. It does not glare and absolutely adds to my visibility, especially on back roads in TN.
To clarify, I run H3 HID in my fogs and just had to slightly bend the shield about 1/10 an inch to clear and insure not to damage the bulb.

Fact: Shorter hid h3 bulbs exist
False: HID Fogs are win
HID in oem fog vs HID in projector retro fog:

My old HID setup --> glare

I use to run an HID kit in my oem fogs, aimed low they still lit up street lights due to the fluted lens. Sorry Tuner I agree and respect a lot of your work but an HID kit in any halogen reflector housing is not win IMO

IDK, my experience with the HID in the driving lights has been positive.....not just my increased visibility, but I've also verified no glare when another vehicle approaches. I've got them aimed good and my car is lowered so that helps.
However, I want to reinforce what has already been said in terms of HID in improper housings, it is absolutely a DO NOT in headlights. IMO, if you can avoid glare in driving lights and prevent vlinding oncoming traffic, then HID in driving lights is great....at least where I live and have to drive.

plug and play fog HIDs = fail. (80-90% of people do)
False: HID Fogs with custom retrofitted projectors are win
Doing it truly correct is possible and works and functions great, but its a lot of work. I give props to those who do it right. Even u said your old HID set up was glare so thats a no win. And lets be honest how many people actually do it right like u have in your set up now.
Man your picture with the yellow fog comparison shows it perfectly !

You should restate your win comment with

I've noted the following:
2002/2003 fogs with HID's = Mad Glare
2000/2001 fogs with HID's = Perfect, may just have to aim the cup on the end a touch. And always re-aim your fogs after messing with them, otherwise they'll blind just cause they're mis-alligned

Just comment. A true fog light is meant for driving slow in severe condition and the beam is only for 10-15 feet away width some good width. It's for slow driving basically. For most of our application, we use it for auxilary light. Fog light that is way too bright not only beat the purpose but also a distraction for incoming traffic and the driver. If you aim high, it will blind the incoming traffic, aim it low you have too much glare infront of you. Any good projector based fog light all have agressive foreground limiter to avoidhuge pool of light in front of you. Try driving with this condition in hard rain or snow and you better off with no lights at all.
Around here I got very distracted with lifted truck with 6000K HID fog light in thier stock housing. It is worse than the glare from HID PnP kit in stock reflector headlight for sure.

Ok - for now i just bought some OEM fog lights and the driver side beam is pionted up how can i adjust them so they are not blinding uncoming traffic? amd i have some 4300k hib bulbs in there so the beam is bright!!

Or get Morimoto Matchbox from TRS. This little thing do wonder plus it's Bi-X also.
Thanks for the Matchbox idea - those where not listed on TRS website but I'll call Matt on Monday and check on them - not sure if I will ever use the Bi-Xenon in the fogs they should make a single beam matchbox for a reduced price!
