Im going to smash my console

I have only had the Maxima since Feb, and I think I can deal with all of it's little quirks..

with the exception of TWO.

Im 6'4" so my seat is ALL the way back. My right arm rests nicely on the console but my elbow constantly, accidentally, hits the release for the console to rise up. CONSTANTLY. I tried smashing it down hard in frustration, but my elbow keeps finding THE #%*^#^ spot ALL THE TIME.

Anyone else ready to smash this thing? Anyone else take it apart to disable this? B/c I may have to find a resolution.

Secondly, Again..Im 6'4"...so my right thigh is up against the shifter console while driving and the emergency brake digs into my leg. If the thing was shorter...it doesnt need to be that long.....my leg would rest nicely.

Any third party, aka SHORTER ebrakes around?

You should be able to unscrew the 2 small joint arms if they are reachable.

Maybe this is a sign that you need a bigger car? I'm 6'1 and only have an inch or so of head room.

WAAA! this car keeps bumping my elbow. WAAA! im too tall for normal sized conveniences.

take it breezy green giant. start by wearing a sofa cushion inside your jeans pocket and use the passenger side door panel as an armrest you behemoth. or you could just use that oversized brain of yours to unhook the release button.

im only 5'11 and still tap it, the button is very sensitive. im sure all 6spd owners know about that 3-4 5-6 shift popping it up.

I use to pop it up all the time and I'm only 5'6". Just learned to drive with the thing up. Problem solved.

BTW-I have a 6-speed too.
