My car is a 2k GXE 5spd with 76K mi on it, orig owner, very clean, kept stock with aftermarket audio. I figure that today I'd get between 7 and 8 grand for it, but how much it will be worth in 2006 with just under 100K mi on it?
The blue book value is only a guide but won't predict the future value.

my only reason is to have enough $ for a downpayment on a new car. If amt of depreciation on my car going to be only 1 grand for the next yr, I'll keep it. If my car will cost only 3 grand next yr (I hope it won't)-) then I would sell.
Coming up with a downpmt on a new car is a pain...

Keep the 2k GXE, unless you absolutely, positively want a new vehicle. Any Maxima will give you many years and miles of life. I have a 96 SE I gave to my 18 yr old sister 2 years ago with 225k, now has 235k and I expect it to get her through the next 4 years of college. If it lasts beyond that, I'll pass it on to my nephew. Even with repair costs, it still beats making car payments. I also have an 01 SE 20th AE that currently has 75k. I'll pass that one on to one of my nephews when I get new car fever, but that will probably be quite some time. I don't have to have the latest and greatest Max. Just one that looks good and rockets down the highway when I want it to.
I had a 99 Max that I bought new and had a very hard time selling it with 107k on the speedo. The car was mint but had high mileage. I would sell it now before you put any more miles on it or keep it and run it into the ground.
