I ordered amber and red LED's from www.superbrightleds.com and man do they really make a difference. No more pink and light oragne clears at night. If you spend the 60 bucks on clears(or hoowever much you soend) invest in colored or white LED's. They really make a difference.

Yeah led's really make the appearance of your car a little better, my friend has a 98 maxima with blue led's and red led's in his tailights and brake lights, you should see when he presses the brake on the sucker, beautiful.

 

yeah i have some 9-LED 921 bulbs for my clear corners and not only are they really bright, but they produce a true red and orange color that looks great during both night and day....i would shy away from 'white' LEDs though because it seems that in all these wedge type bulbs, the 'white' LEDs turn out looking more of a purple color...i've tried two brands of white wedge type LEDs and they both turned out this way...

 

You guys should put 9-LED 194 wedge bulbs in your doors....that sh*t is bright!

How do I find out the size for certain bulbs? I wanted some for the side markers (both front n rear), the side corner lights on the 2k2 headlights, rear tails, and blinkers for both rear and also for the front 2k2 headlights.. =0

 

I've got PIAA Xtreme white's in the doors now and although I like the color, they aren't bright enough for my taste. Where did you get your 9-LEDs?

all you'll ever need right there...if i were you, however, instead of using 194's for the sidemarkers, i would get some 9-LED 921's off of ebay..they're a lot brighter and are plug and play...i don't think they would fit in any of the other 194 locations though, becuase the diameter is quite a bit larger and it just happens to fit into the sidemarkers...

Good question. I'm about to order some for the doors (and I'll try one in the trunk...in case I want to read back there or something) and if they brighten up the sidemarkers evenly, I'll put them in there too.

 

Don't foget that if you guys are adding LEDs to any of the blinker lights that you will need to install a resistor on the circut in order to prevent the LED bulb from blinking too fast and burning out. I have LED lights in ALL of my lights right now, and after several of them burned out, I am GLADLY going back to filament style bulbs.

 

The look fawking awesome and the light output is tremendous on these. You will not be dissapointed.

 

Bright yes, but being a focused LED, the light is like a beam. If you want full coverage of the sidemarker, get either inverted or the 5-LED matrix ones.

 

wrong....if i could take a picture, i would, but i dont have a digital camera....at night it covers the ENTIRE sidemarker housing evenly and it looks as if your car is totally stock with the red and amber bulbs....even when it's light out, you can see how much of the housing this thing covers...it's extremely bright and since there are so many reflectors within the sidemarker, it doesn't seem to localize the light like you would think would happen with LEDs..

i used to have some 4led sidemarkers, but the law enforcement where i live has gotten worse adn i recieved a $75 ticket for them. since then i have unpluged my sidemarker bulbs and just run without them. all that money on bulbs and i cant even use them.

i have a set of the scatter leds, 1bulb facing forward and 4 pointiong in different directions, those are super bright and would fill the sidmarker all the way, not just a dot, but then again that would prob attract more attention.

oh yeah all the sidemarker bulbs are size 194, 168s will fit too but 194s are better. 921s are too deep and i beleive arent set to the same power rating.

 

I'll take a pic of my doors at night with the 9-LED so you can see where I'm coming from. The light will scatter yes, but to me it doesn't scatter at the base of the tip of the bulb.

 

there are several people, including myself that have used the 921 bulbs for the sidemarkers..they are a lot brighter than the 194s and there has been no problem with shorting issues and i've owned them since december! definitely a worth while investment (as long as they're amber and red )

you're correct about the door lights...sorry i misinterpreted you...you have to realize, however, that in the door lights, the bulb comes a lot closer to the very tip of the housing, which causes the LED to have a beam rather than spreading...another reason it does this in the door light is because it doesn't have reflectors like the side markers do...i also had LED lights in my doors at one point and i took them out immediately...they didn't provide near enough light and like you said, they looked like a beam....

anyone have any good bulbs for the map light, all the aftermarket ones ive tried have been really dim

 

6-LED DE3175 bulbs are the brightest I've seen.

 

I am at the site super bright leds but I do not see the bulb size in the buy now section, are all of these leds needed hardwire instead of plug in? meaning they are all the same size just needs to be hardwired to power up? also where can I find leds small enough to fit in the in cabin window module, I've seen a couple members had it in but where can I find these leds....thanks for ur response...

LEDs are plug and play, a direct replacement for your stock bulbs. Only difference is they last longer, shine faster, emits no heat, and draws less power. To see what bulbs are used in your car go to

What part number do I need for the SuperBright LED page. Its a 7440 or 7443 on the sylvania page, but what part number does that translate into on the Superbright page. I know they are either 1156 or 1157's.

1156/1157 is NOT the same as 7440/7443. I'm pretty sure you need 7440 for the turn signal and stop lights. BUT if you are putting LEDs in the turn signals, you'll need load resistors so they don't hyper-flash.

 

I am only doing tail lights.

Either Way, that aint helping because Superbright dont sell 7440 or 7443!

 

Then just swap in the LEDs, and if they don't turn on the first time, just turn them around since the LEDs have a distinct + and -
