I went with a friend of mine to a dealer by me to price an X-Terra for her. I brought up the subject of the 2002/2003 Maxima with him, and he said there isn't going to be any change to the 2002 model at all, exterior or engine. He said they're going to produce a very limited amount of Altima SE's in 2002, and when the 2003 Maxima comes out with it's new engine and everything, they're going to increase Altima production and overlap it with the '03 Max..he said he heard rumors about the 6 speed 270 hp 3.5 engine for 2003..

SO thats just another take on the whole issue..
