Turning over issue.

Ok guys a while back i posted a thread about this topic and maybe it was my info, or maybe it was just no one knew what the problem was. Now after living with this issue for awhile i want to fix it. I believe it might be the fuel pump. When i turn it over the alternator and everything seems to be fine because the car will turn over...the thing is itll choke out and stall. it makes the turning over noise then clunks down and chokes the goes back to turning over then starts. I believe its a fuel pump issue but i might be wrong. Got any ideas for me? also maybe its a blown O2 sensor??

its not a blown o2 sensor.

be more descriptive and avoid using ambiguous words.

okay so... the battery is okay, it cranks over okay, but doesnt fire up (doesnt start), or when it does start up, it stalls immdiately?

does it EVER start? how long has the car been sitting without running?

have you run a fuel pressure test?

no i havent had the fuel pressure test, its cranks but chokes out, sometimes it never gets to turning over unless it chokes out first. Like ill turn the key and it will turn over fine and the all of the sudden it with just clunk out then resume turning over then it will turn on. It happens after it sits for sometimes short periods, sometimes over night. Any more help?

no, youre still using words that could mean MANY things...

you lose me every time with 'chokes out'... 'choking' indicates that the car isnt getting any air...

so it cranks and then makes a clunking sound and then cranks and starts?

im lost... seriously.

maybe you should take a video of it and send it to me.

ok ill try and explain this again. the car turns over fine by wont start up thats the issue i am trying to figure out. So here it is step by step. I turn the key and the car makes the turning over sound then makes like a choking out sound and the turning over process just stops and resumes within a second after the drop out. After it drops out it seems to start just fine. Im trying to do some elimintations. Today when i was turning it over i tapped the gas pedal as it was trying to start and then it started alsmost perfectly. So i think it has to do with my fuel or air. Man ill take a video using my camera so you can hear to sound then ill send it if that information wasnt enough. its just relaly hard to try and explain the way it works.

ive almoset got it, except the 'choking out sound'

is it a popping, or a clicking or a crunching, a muffled pop... does it sound like grandpa laughed too hard or kitty has a hairball or what?

the words 'choking out' dont correlate to a sound... at least not one that a car makes.

is it a muffled backfire, per chance?

Does the car drive OK except for this starting issue?? No missing, pinging or lack of pep? No SES light that may have come on for a while and then gone off? Does the starter start to turn the engine over, then there is like a "metallic clunk", a momentary "non-cranking", followed by normal cranking and then a normal start?? If everything else is "normal", then it sounds to me like it is "kicking back" due to an intermittent and periodic early spark, possibly due to a duff coil.

That was almost a perfect explanationa nd ive been reading up and supossedly my year is bad for coil problems. So im taking to a garage soon, like tomorrow. Also earlier about 4 months ago my SES light came on and shot off the PO420 code: two way catalyst control, then i cleared it, then now my SES light is back on and the car isnt running up to par at all and sounds not quite as hot. Im pretty worried. Im acutally ****ting myself because i love my max sooo damn much.
