side air bags became standard on 03 GLE. Before that, it was an option.

In Japan most fatalities in auto accidents are from rear end collisions, so I guess Nissan brought "active headrest" technology to America.

It lessens(by equaling the force by which the car was hit) the whiplash effect from a rear end hit, significantly reducing neck injury(from the whiplash).

^dont hold me to it but thats basically it in a nutshell

Almost correct...active headrests tend to move with the head during a crash..and so it reduces the impact the head might have with the head rest ( i.e slam against it when in a crash)

hmm.. The 02 Iam planning on buying is 300 miles @ a delearship -- I see a few snaps..
I could see Memory Seats but no Side Airbags(From the Pic)..

Mem Seating Package is exclusive of the Side Airbags Package??

OR if there is Memory Seating -- There would be Side Airbags??
Is there any place on the Internet, that i can check what options did Nissan Offer that year on the Maxima GLE Trimline??

Thanks!
