Thanks for passing this our way!

Wow... I can't wait to see this new Maxima, with new side skirts and 4-lens headlamps it sounds like it will be quite the looker.

I think it will look about the same, minus the headlights, and small cosmetic updates.

Thanks for posting this! Why would we doubt you on this? This is pretty believable and backs up what Freshalloy.com has written.

I like the 6 speed option. I notice that they moved to a more common tire size, 225/55-17. This car is perfect, except the semi-independent rear suspension. That will be the only inferior feature in comparison to the Altima.

That's a good question. My best guess is about $18,000. Of course that includes trading my 2000.

Hey Guys!

I was just re-reading my sticker from my 2k max. I missed it the first time through... this car came with the "Bend-Over" package. I didn't even get a reacharound.

Oh boy!

3.5L V6 260 ponies under the hood...6 speed...Hopefully all those extra options won't make the car too heavy. I can see the list of cars that the Maxima can beat getting bigger. I am curious to know the 0-60 times for this puppy.

All the extra touches on the standard models all sound very nice. I'm turning green with envy even as I type!! If I could have only waited a year!!

Oh well. I still love my SE!

About time they considered a NAV option. Hopefully the 2003 will be DVD based instead of CD based.

Argh...

I hope that C&D, MT, or R&T does a "first drive" on this thing soon so that we are all sure what we're talking about. I'd like to compare their performance #s with the 3.0L #s. The car will certainly be heavier just from the engine and the added features will also add weight. I wonder how much better of a performer this will be. If Nissan goes the way of most manufacturers...the Maxima won't be much faster if at all. Larger engine doesn't mean faster and not many auto makers make their full-sized sedan their fastest offering. I wouldn't be surprised if the Altima remains the Nissan to beat in 2002.

33hp (or 38hp) is not much to make up for with a car that will likely be a good deal lighter. I'm still glad I bought the AE.

I don't understand the redo on the front and rear fascia???? Every other piece of information we've received suggests no change to the exterior design this year.

The engine shouldn't be much heavier (if at all) since it uses the same block with a longer stroke... right guys?

Sure, make me look bad in front of a national audience. Thanks!

No, really...no added weight? Well, it will certainly be heavier thanks to other additions...but how much I wonder.

probably won't gain much at all. The esential car is not changing just some stuff. Are hid's heavier than regular lights? maybe just the ballast pack at a couple pounds.

Is a navigation going to add weight? Heater steering wheel? Most of these are just better parts.

The car, which is aleady pretty damn fast will be a good deal faster, making it a rocket. 40hp and ~30ft-lbs of torque is plenty to drop the 0-60 time by almost a second. It will be faster than the altima.....which means LESS the 6.3 to 60. PLUS the won't give the altima the helical limited slip diff so the maxima will leap off the line....or atleast leave TWO patches of rubber.

I'm saving my pennies now. If I put 5-6K down I'm sure I can lease it for 200 a month.

Yep and a bit more bore too. So the engine weight should be about the same.

Sorry, I fixed my post, what I was trying to say is:

Hope the I35T comes with a 6spd or a 5spd. Then I would trademy 2001 i30T, else, I'm not to sure from going from my I30 to a 02 or 03 Maxima. The interior and buid quality is a bit better on the infiniti.

Love Maxima's though, so maybe Aghhh, what to do, what to do.

Don't forget the six speed!

Even if it is a bit heavier, don't forget that the gearing will be changed due to that extra gear. Make the sixth very tall and the other 5 short and the rest of the Max's will be toast. Also, hope the fuel economy doesn't go down that much (remember, $3.00 for premium this summer)

That car should run about 6 flat 0-60 or faster. There's not really going to be that much more weight. The nav system's weight will be minimal...and there's nothing else that would really weigh that much more. It's going to be one DAMN quick car.

If you have a MJ Blue, then you have an AE body kit which I assume will not be offered on the 2K2.

Or, I guess you could be one of those Canada types where they didn't get body kits.
