grinds into reverse

i got my trany rebuilt by ammco a few months ago...now all the sudden grinds into reverse sometimes...sometimes it is fine, if i let off the clutch, move a foot, and try again it grinds. sound like a serious problem or just need some adjustments?? taking it to aamco tomorrow to see what they think.

are you moving when it happens? or does it even do it when it's standing still? are you pressing on the gas at all when it happens?

Try shifting into first before you put it in reverse.

Dude my car does it too. Every manual I have ever owned has sometimes has trouble getting into a certain gear. It is grinding because you aren't fully into reverse when you let out the clutch. If you can't feel that you aren't all the way in with the shifter and it grinds real quick, push in clutch and put it in neutral, then pump the clutch once and hoold it down FIRM, then Firmly move the shifter into reverse again and it should go. My car does it all the time. I would have them look at it. I am not sure whether it relfects clutch wear or what but I would REALLY LIKE TO KNOW. My car does this now and has done so since 30K miles. My clutch is in great condition.
