5th gen battery power wire
What is the AWG for the 5th gen power battery cable. The red one or the black one? I'm thinking of remounting my battery to my trunk and i need to know how big of a cable i need

I believe the stock the power cable of the battery is 10 AWG or 8 AWG. But, if you're thinking of relocating the battery to the trunk, you're going to have to uprade the power cable to at least 4 AWG or less. Thicker cable, more flow of current on long runs.

4awg is easier than 0awg to work with. if you feel4awg isn't enough, then run a pair side by side. believe when i say it's much easier. the flexibiliy between both is so extreme. i wish i hadnt' run my 0awg wire.
fyi, oem cable is 8awg. but what i would concern myself more with is not power wire, but the fuse that sits right there. it's a 120A fuse that pretty much connects to everything. how do you plan on relocating that. i would do more of an inspection of the area and what specifically you are relocating.
i am guessing you're upgrading to FI, which is why you're moving the battery, right?
