For those with a CF hood
first question, which is the best one, oem style, in terms of fitment and such. i dont want to spend all day cutting this and that, bolt on and go.
also, i know people always throw hood pins on aftermarket hoods(and some ricers do it to stock hoods, he he) but are they needed? i dont want the hood to fly off at speed, but i hate the look of hood pins. anyways, thanks.

i know VIS makes a pretty good one. Hood pins are required for the CF hoods, but some people just a chance with them. If i were you, I would put that on, just because i would feel a lot safer with them on.

yup, VIS OEM fits the best, as far as i know. as you can see from my pic, aside from a slightly bigger gap betwee the hood and the fender, you cant even tell my hood is CF from this angle. lines up great, IMO.
I can't remember where but I read a bad thread once on the org about people (or a person) with a VIS Carbon Fiber Hoods who used hood pins.
He lived in a colder climate where it often snows and said his VIS CF Hood started to crack around the hood pins. Apparently the holes that you
have to make in order for the pins to fit through where just large enough for water to seap into and freaze causing the hood to crack noticibly.
This testimony alone regarding the affects that hood pins could possibly have on such an exspensive and fragile hood was enough to discourage me from using them.
If you take your time and make the appropriate adjustments to the hood pin locking mechanizum you should been fine. Even up to speeds in excess of 137 mph
