Anyone buy an extended warranty- transmission is already shot

I was thinking of buying an extended warranty because my tranny is shot- Nissan wants $1300 for 24 months and it covers the transmission- while it will cost me $2500+/- to get the tranny fixed else where. I currently have 63K mile on the car- the warranty expired @ 60K..

Will nissan check the car prior to extending the warranty... they did not mention this to me.

How long should i wait before getting it serviced after extended the warranty?

Anyone try this??? You think it will work??

Yes they would do a check to make sure they don't get "scammed" themselves.

yes, in order to get an extended warranty, a complete inspection will be done and all failing items must be corrected.

Even if you buy 3rd party warranty, most require either an inspection or 1000 miles AND 30 days from purchase mileage/date.

You're basically SOL..a warranty isn't gonna help you at this point. Try asking your insurance co. I think I read a while back an ins. co. helped a member here w/his dead engine.
