help immediately, Bolt on top of front Strut

I was doing my suspension and the bolt that screws the top plate onto the strut seems to be stuck and the whole thing spins if i not holding on to it.
Which way to you turn the bolt?

Is there some easier way to get it off?

If I understand the question correctly, ya turn it counterclockwise and you need to somehow stop the piston from rotating... I just used a channel-grip and held the piston by the dustboot, but be careful not to grip the piston itself.

An allen wrench can be used to keep it from turning if there is an opening for one.

just put it back in the car and loose the bolt ... take it back and compress the spring... that's what I did with mines.......

If you have access to either an electric impact or air wrench, those will losen the nut without much effort or any other tools.
