All you have to do is unplug the harness of your current auto dim mirror, remove the mirror, install the new auto dim mirror with compass, plug the harness back in. You are done!
In case your new mirror also have temp, then you need to wire the sensor wire (this is the hard part). Since I have out side temp display already, I keep the sensor wire inside my car so the mirror will display inside temp.
I installed my Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror w/Compass and Temp last week. I had no problem to do that at all. If you have any question feel free to ask me

How do you get it to read temp? I installed a compass mirror last week and saw that it had an LCD capable of displaying temp, but it doesn't.

The temp. display of the mirror needs a temp. sensor probe in order to give a readout. Either you can buy a probe and wire it directly to the mirror, or if you have auto A/C in your car, you can tap into the ambient wire which already has the probe mounted outside the car near the grille.

the one i installed has 3 wires. black for ground, chocolate for power, and i am thinking the green one is for temperature. I do have the auto climate. I can run that 3rd green wire to the front sensor to make the temp work??
