yeah either new rotors or like he said tires balanced out. You may also have a slighty bent rim but i doubt that is the determining factor in this case. since it vibrates with the brkes on. Also if you have slotted, cross drilled or both it could cause this aswell. Ive heard of that.

My steering wheel does that too, but it brakes fine when driving around town. Maybe in my case it is tire balance? Not warped rotor?

You can have your tires balanced for a minimal amount of $$$, it is definitly worth a try!

Keep in mind that the vibration could also be caused by warped rear rotors believe it or not. To see if the rear rotors are causing the vibration, drive at the speed you feel it at and then pull the e-brake only and see if you get the same vibration.

I went through this exercise when I had the vibrations and after I replaced two sets of front rotors (second time was because I thought the first new set were warped ) and after I balanced the tires too...

Tire balance will vibrate at all times from about 50mph to 80mph not just when braking.

Warped front rotors will cause your steering wheel to shake when braking at high speeds.

warped rear rotors will cause the whole car to vibrate when braking.

Front rotors are warped, don't waste your money getting the tires balanced. Spend the money to get your rotors resurfaced.

i agree
everytime i had that problem on my 00 and now my 02 it was the rotors. you really notice it during heavy braking from high speed. thats why you dont feel it driving around town.
