probably selling it because he suddenly realized how absolutely hideous it is :

"the total value of this unique maxima is over $36,000."

What happened to his HIDs? Those lights on there are ugly and seem to stick out over the bumper quite a bit. And that grille, wow!!!

I was being sarcastic and making a commentary that just because you put $36,000 into something, doesn't make it worth $36000. As a self-interested individual, he would do a BIN of $36,000 if he would think he could get it.

It's not bad, except he went nuts with using mesh on the front end. And why does he have his snow tires on?

Mesh? Looks like chickenwire to me. I don't think the king of home depot mods would do this.

hmmm.....that'd be my cousin you guys are all sh*tting on. can't say i'm too thrilled about that. he put over $10,000 in custom audio in to that car. that makes up for the price alone. who else on here took out their clock and custom fiberglassed a speaker in to have ACTUAL 5.1 surround? hmmm...no one.

i know you love your stock maxima, but some people like to be different. before you flame somebody, why don't you try to look at the amount of money/time/effort they put into their car? bottom line...it's more than you put into YOUR car.

oh, and by the way....he had 18" Enkei Bortex wheels on the car, but sold them prior to selling the car. that's why the winter tires are on the car.

you know just as well as the rest of us that money put into the car doesn't = what it's worth. I don't care if it's gold-plated, that car is in no way worth "$36,000"....

$10,000 in custom audio doesn't = $10k in used custom audio. Audio adds the LEAST value to your car of anything. New tires - that adds value. New transmission and clutch - adds value. Audio stuff generally doesn't add much value, sorry......

also, the car has hardly any performance upgrades, and is sitting on snow tires (which means the buyer will need to drop more money on new tires)

oh......and, the kit is ugly.

I don't think anyone here dumped on the audio/video system in the car. People were dumping on it because it's fugly on the outside, esp. with the chicken wire in the front. Having said that, $21k might not be a bad deal with the audio/video system it has and the low miles it has as long as you fix it so it's no longer fugly.

Guys stop hating, lol. The car looks good, I know he put those cheap headlights instead of keeping stock HIDs, but overall the car looks good. Wow he did a bunch of mods, I like it.

yeah, ive got 5.1 surround. where it belongs. in my living room. i use my car for DRIVING...

i know you love your stock maxima,
i do, its treated me real well, which is why i bought the 02. but the 91 is still slow.

but some people like to be different.
im not saying theres anything wrong with being ugly.

before you flame somebody, why don't you try to look at the amount of money/time/effort they put into their car?
im not flaming for one... and two, i DID look at what he put into it and immediately came to the conclusion that it wasnt worth it. look, hes not even gonna get book value for the car.

bottom line...it's more than you put into YOUR car.
car, yes... truck, not quite. besides... even after all that money, its still fukcing slow.

if the car is sooo damn awesome, why is he sellling it? because the local dealer wont touch it under warranty for anything electrical, including powertrain issues?

1. he's selling the car because he bought a Yukon. a maxima isn't exactly the best vehicle to haul stuff back and forth to school with.

2. his car is being sold by one of those eBay companies. he just gave them the car and then they sell it. none of the claims being made are actually BY the owner.

3. regardless of what the ad says its worth, the bottom line is that you can get a 2003 Maxima with only 19k miles on it for $18,000. no one on here can tell me that's not a deal.

The pleather on the shift **** looks like it's coming off. It would be a great deal if it didn't have the ghetto rice bumper on it, but how's anyone going to know what time it is with no clock?

the dvd player has a clock display on the top right, still if you bought this car, im sure teh seller has the stock bumpers, and even if he didnt take thoes bumpers off and e-bay them and buy the stock ones, i still think this car is a good deal with 19k miles, IMO

not to mention that you have two big expenses to add to this car if you buy it:

1. non-snow tires ($700-1K)
2. factory HIDs ($1000+)

then things like getting a new factory front bumper to replace that ghetto one.....

Where do you buy tires? You must buy the overpriced Michelin Pilot Sport for $200. Falkins are a little over $100/tire.

I don't understand why someone would take out the HID's. That would be like throwing out the leather seats to put horrific-looking GXE cloth seats in.

5.1 sound for music is pretty worthless, especially when CD's are not encoded in 5.1, but in plain jane stereo. Sure, Dolby pro logic can upmix it, but it's a hack job and you don't need 5 channels for music anyways. 5.1 is great for movies though.

Obviously, I'm speaking generally...

My tires are Toyo Proxes 4 which ran about $125 each (about as cheap as you can get them) + about $10 each shipping

4x125 = 500
4x10 = 40
mount = 50 or so...

so I paid 600 about. Mounted an all, even the Falken 512s would be around 500 (I know, I've had 2 sets)

but if you got Pilot Sports, you'd be looking at around $1000 for tires.

The pilot sport is $187 at tirerack + ~$40 shipping + $50 mounting = $838 Last year I got some pilot sports off of a brand new mercedes for $100 each.

he wrecked his car and when he redid it, put those ebay projectors in. that's a lot cheaper than trying to buy new OEM HID's...

ok ok you win

I think in prices for 235/45/18 for my 18x8 wheels.....

That, and the pilots were over 200 at tirerack last year in stock size when I looked...

If he wrecked the car why is the title clean...."wreck" needs to be elaborated.

I'll give props for the center channel though, its pretty nice and is definitely innovative, which we praise here on the org

Also, just for the benefit of the doubt, at the bottom it does say the car comes with factory bumpers and side skirts.

But I digress, the kit makes it look fugly, and the headlights don't line up.

honestly, i don't know how extensive his "wreck" was. i know he crashed the car and needed to redo the front bumper and hood and headlights. never saw the car then, just heard a little about it.

that just means he used a good bodyman...

$18K for that car would be a good deal if it were stock, or at least near stock. seriously, why would you pay that much for a car with no warranty, regardless of the miles?
