Hi people.

I just bought a Majestic Blue, 2001 Maxima SE, 20th Anv. I got everything but the traction control and the 6 disc changer. I wasn't sure if the car was for me (was looking at the Lexus IS300), but as soon as I saw the SE 20th in Blue... I was pretty much sold. Oh, and the test drive helped too

Hope this weather clears up soon so I can take it out and drive!

Anyone have any tips for properly breaking in of the car? I didn't get it *brand* new, but almost (had a 174 miles on it). I know I should go easy for the first 1000 miles (or more). How about changing out fluids?

Well.. I'm sure I'll be posting here a lot since I own one of these awesome machines now. Take care!

Congrats on the new car! I would say take it easy for the first 1000 miles or so, but taking it hard once in a while is ok. No need to change the fluids until you break the 1500 I believe (oil change).

Have fun with your new machine!

CONGRATS

be careful tho. these guys will soon have you wanting to mod your maxima. i was pretty happy with my stock se until i found this site. now all i can think about is buying braces and intakes.
the maxima is awesome from the factory, but there is definitely more potential to the car that has not been exploited. the enthusiasm here is contagious.
so enjoy your new maxima, and welcome to the club.

Welcome

My recommendations are baby her at different speeds for the first 1000 miles. Around 1500 change the oil. I went to full synthetics at 3500 miles. I love the color and the car, just wish it had a SC option. I am also looking to replace my 99 Regal GS w/ a Lexus Is300. Can't decide which one I'll drive and which one I'll allow the wife to drive. In all fairness she will help detail them every Sat. morning. Buy the Courtesy Nissan or Stillen Front Strut Bar first........

Like others have said... beware the mod-monster. It'll take a big-honkin' slab outta yer @ss before you know it. But the best part is... you won't mind it one bit

Cheers!
