Headlight Dilemma

Hey guys,

I have saved up some money to do some major work to my Max, and one of the changes I wanna do is change my headlights in some way

and therein lies my dilemma

I am stuck on whether or not to get a regular pair of headlights for my 2000 and then black them out myself and buy a plug and play bi-xenon kit from the group deal

or, of course, go with the HID conversion which would cost about 3 times as much.....

any opinions?

if anyone has pics of a 2000 or 2001 max with a hid kit in it, pics would be appreciated.

thanks guys

just do ae mod to your stock lights. it will look sick on your black car. plus its free and easy i just helped my friend do it to his 2g max, so if you wanna upgrade to HIDs then you still can

The one thing you should think about is that you are in an area of high HID theft. I know because I live about 10 minutes across the river from Philly and have had my lights stolen. All you need is some jackhole follow you home and then come back later to get your lights. If it's something you are willing to risk, why not go for a D. Roy retrofit of some projector lights? Putting in an HID kit into a non-HID housing results in some annoying/illegal glare. Just a thought....

I'm having the same problem. I decided to go do the AE mod where the hardest part is getting over your fear of putting them into the oven And possible getting a set of HID's next year when they are a little cheaper...i.e. the general public will be purchasing the 6th Gen rendering the 5th Gen obsolete (I gonna hear it for that remark). I'm in Jersey but I have really good aim

Guys I am in the same boat, i did the baking of the the stock 00 lights and made them black, i think it looks amazing. Go to my cardomain page to see it, but yes i am doing the same mod, bi xenon HIDs. What prices have you found, I need a set real bad

Has any one seen the set of headlights on ebay. They claim to be jet black and crystal clear for 150 with a 40 S&H plus they come with clear corners. Any thoughts

this is the thread that i used as a reference. beleive me when i say GET NEW SILICON.
i didnt put new silicon on mine when i did it and had to do the whole thing over again when i got a puddle in the light. since i put the bead on i havnt had any water. Also dont paint the inside plastic. when the lass is seperated you will have two more screws form the plastic to the glass. remove those and take the plastic peaice out carefully. use a soft sponge and hot soap water and literally rub the paint off. dont use too much force or youll have scrathc marks in the plastic. look at my car domain page and youll see the end result. need any more help, PM me

the cheapo ebay projectors have terrible light output. do the retro yourself with mdx projectors or the e46 projectors.
