How does brake assist work?
I was looking up reviews for my 2002 SE and saw that they have a feature called "brake assist" How does this work and when does it work?? Thanks. and how does it know when you need assist? (I remember seeing this on a few mercedes benz a few years back)
I'm not sure about the max, but on a diesel it's pretty simple. The brake assist is complimented by a vacuum assist pump. It has a diaghram inside, one side air the other brake fluid. Press the brake and the vacuum increases pushing fluid to the brake cylinder. Helping maybe twice the pressure with half the effort.
