Car Ticks in Reverse, Squeaks when Turning

Anyone have any hints on what is wrong with my ride? The car lightly ticks when moving in reverse and squeaks when turning (similar to bad springs in a mattress). The ticks come from the front-end and the squeaks are from all around. WTF is wrong with my ride???

Sheki,

I see that u have a FSTB...I hear some people on the .org sayin automatic 5.5 gens make a noise when going into reverse becuz of the FSTB....could this be a possibility for yer car?

Not totally sure about the squeaks when turning....Maybe run a visual exam on your suspension components to see if anything is loose? Sorry i'm not good at this...just throwing u suggestions....hopefully everything gets worked out, cuz I know wut yer going thru right now

hey...thanks! I'm pretty sure it is not the FSTB since the rubbing sound between the IM and FSTB sounds different (more like a cell phone in vib mode)...and it only happens if I gun it going reverse which I rarely do. The noise I'm getting are clean ticks (hopefully not the tranny dying). I'm getting all these issues after visiting the dealer.

When I put my automatic into reverse I get a few clean ticks also. They happen only when I first put it in gear then the ticks stop. I tried a few things and realized that I only get the ticks when I put it in drive or reverse while my foot is on the brake pedal. If I take my foot off the brake pedal and put it in gear I don't get any ticks. I don't know what my ticks are from, but I hope the tranny is ok!

Wheel bearing and struts are two TOTALLY different things. From what it sounds like, it could be the wheel bearing, not the struts.

Yea I would also suggest you check out your front wheel bearings. You may also want to do a visual check on your CV boot to make sure it is not cut/torn. If it is you may also have CV joint going bad.

This advice is absolutely correct, given the sounds you are hearing. If you have warranty/extended warranty, this work is covered. Under my extended warranty (the one where you pay no deductible), I had the left front bearings replaced twice, and CV joint/boot replaced once.
