bulb behind manual AC controls

Has anyone replaced the bulb that is behind the manual AC controls before. Last night, I was driving home from work and realized that my center console looked awfully dim and noticed that 1/3 of the AC control panel was dimmed out. I thought those was LED's and don't burn out. I took the bottom panel off to see if a wire was loose b/c I just had a new radio installed but everything seems fine.

ANyone has any idea's what kind of bulbs they are and how to change it?

I have the same issue... Can anyone help here?

I searched a bit and found that while some people have messed around with changing these lights... There is no write up on it. On another note it seems as though these lights are only available through Nissan?

I have the Manual control unit, any help is greatly appreciated.

What you have to do it take the whole thing about and take it apart. it is pretty easy really once you look at it. there is like 4 screws that hold it togehter and then 4 more that hold the circuit board or whatever to the front face. you take that off and you will see like 4 little bulbls, they just unscrew with a phillips screw driver like half a turn or something. i ordered the bulbs from nissan, but if you are thinking about changing the color or your dash now is the time

hm... i wonder if these might be 74 bulbs which were the same ones I used to change the ignition ring color on the steering wheel. I bought more so I can change the lights above my ashtray.

Where did you get your bulbs? I will let you know what bulbs are in the AC controls as soon as I get to the project.

I replaced those on my 2000 maxima recently. There are 3 bulbs that illuminate the a/c control itself. The part number is 27545-1W600. I purchased them from the local Nissan dealer for $3.83 a piece.

Check the 4th Gen info for a write-up on changing bulb colors. I replaced them on my old 4th Gen with stock ones from Nissan, although I got charged $5 each for mine. I couldn't find the aftermarket replacements but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. I think there are also colored rubber things (that sounds bad) that can fit over the top of the bulbs to change the color. Good luck.
