Replacing fog light on 2001 se

Hi,
My passenger side fog light went out recently. How difficult is this to replace? Is it just a bulb or do I need to replace the whole thing? Thanks!

just a bulb. i am pretty sure the faq on this repair is gone. just remove the splash guards covering the back of the fog light. there is one screw holding it down that can be taken off with a fairly large philips. the harness is pretty straight forward to remove. then push the fog lights from the back and take the whole capsule out. turn counter clockwise and it will open up. there is a clip holding the bulb then unplug from the harness and replace bulb. remember dont touch the new glass on the bulb and put everything in backwards order.

Thanks a bunch for the help. Went out and got the bulb at autozone and went to work on getting to the fog light. I was able to get the splash guard opened up from underneath, but had no luck with the harness. Hoping I'm just lacking automotive knowledge cause you indicated it was pretty straight forward to remove. Looking up from underneath the car, I removed a single screw that went up from the bottom of the harness. After that, I tried pushing forward on the back of the fog light, but it was not budging at all. Can you give me any other guidance/details? Was just worried I would break it if I pushed too hard. Thanks a bunch for your help!

Thanks for all of your help. So in order to avoid me breaking my light, let me see if I have this straight. I've been able to remove the splash guards and a single screw that goes up into the fog light harness from the bottom. I think I definitely saw the two clips you are referring to - they are at the top, white around the edges and a metal piece in the middle that secures it in place. I just need to use a screwdriver to push these forward and the foglight should pop out? Thanks again.

yep, that sounds familiar. when it releases from the clips, it will still take some pressure to get it out. the clips are white and there is what i would call a metal stake though it. just take a small hammer wrapped in cloth/towel and tap it out.

once you remove the bolt that hold the fog in place just push form the back of the fog light and it will come out. Push it hard
