Anyone with leather seats, need your help
I recently purchased a 2k max se with blond leather. The drivers side seatback had been damaged and the dealership agreed to replace it as part of the purchase. Problem is, they have ordered two of them, and both have come in clothe, and the wrong size/shape. I went down to my local Nissan parts counter and gave them my VIN, got the part number, and it still came in a clothe seatback. Can anyone check for me, on a drivers side leather seat, just below the pocket on the seatback there is some writing imprinted that says "Classis Soft Trim". Does anyone else have this writing on stock leather? It says the name of the company that produces the leather. Can anyone check for me? Thanks in advance.
I checked mine, also. I have a 2K SE that came with tan leather and there is no writing at all on any part of my leather seats. And just for the record, I only have the seat back "pocket" on my passenger's seat. Hmmmm?

I went down to a local dealership that had a 00 SE and it also only had a pocket on the passenger side, and no writing. The seats looked different from mine, but they had side airbags, and mine does not. Hmm, this sucks..
I just checked mine... nothing in the pocket. The passangers seat is the only seat that has a pocket, I also have the side airbags so I dont know if that makes a difference. I dont think your car came from the factory with leather seats... if the dealer ran the VIN and it came up with cloth seats, that means it came with cloth seats... you can look at the plate on the firewall and see what it says for the interior trim.
Classic Soft Trim is an aftermarket upolstery company. Your car came with cloth from the factory and either the dealer or the previous owner added that to it, in fact the leather is just a cover, the cloth is probably still on there. it is high quality leather, and in most cases better than the OEM, chances are you'll have to take the replacement part and see if an upholstry shop can redo it in leather.

There is no clothe underneath. The seats themselves are shaped differently than the clothe seats, and match the interior tone perfectly. The panel that came in is a different size and shape than the one that needs to be replaced. I do believe now that this is aftermarket leather. I'll swing by my local dealership tomorrow and see if they have any answers, maybe they can look up something with classic soft trim. Otherwise I guess I'll have to take it to an upholstry shop and see if they can repair it. Thanks for checking for me, its much appreciated.

Yeah, I gotta call them today. There is a Classic soft trim installation center by me, so I'll probably go by their and have them fix it and charge it to the dealer. Thanks for the replies guys.
Actually, I used to work at a Honda Dealer and we sold Classic Soft Trim Leather Upgrades on cars without leather. They are giving you covers that are not OEM. The are an after-market manufactor that supplies covers for vehicles. OE would be the correct term. I would request OEM for your car... nothing is better than factory.
I shouldn't have read so quick.. but sounds to me your car came factory cloth and used this supplier to convert it to leather... I would contact Classic Soft Trim and get the replacement. Sorry for the above post... and good luck.

i worked for a dealer just tell them u are not taking delivery unless they knok down the price the cost of the seat, DO NOT TRUST THEM TO REEMBURCE U LATER ON!!! basically dont take any "we owe u". if u did take the car already, go in there really pissed and ask to speak with the general manager, not sales manager, not general sales manager, but general manager, every dealer has one, thats the main guy! dont be nice about it ull just get shiiited on, good luck

I had my National Guard duty this weekend and didn't have a chance to deal with it. I have it in writing that they agree to repair the seatback at no cost to me. I'm gonna call the sales guy tomorrow, and he better have a good answer, or else I'm going down there. Don't worry, I can handle this...
