everytime i stop with the windows open at a intersection or after i drive the car..i can smell gas fumes on the drivers side of the car. it smells like its coming from the gas filler door..in there.. i figured maybe some gas dripped down when i refueled so i washed it in there real good. still smell it..i checked and no leaks. is this normal? what could it be?

My first guess would be an exhaust leak. I would bet, if this is the case, it is on the y-pipe.

I had a similar problem where i smelled gas on the right rear passenger side. Soon after, I got a check engine light and I took it to Midas to get it diagnosed and they got some code but said it was basically something wrong with the evap system in the exhaust. The gas fumes werent properly being circulated back into whatever canister theyre held in and were filtering back into the cabin. The guy said it wasn't a big deal so he just got rid of the light but said it might come back again. You can only smell gas at certain times and usually its not that strong so I'm ok with it for now. I'll prob have to take it to the dealer and get it fixed before inspection though.

ok same exact thing with me. i got an evap problem SES light...they said it was an 02 sensor and replaced it. still smell gas and SES light is back.
