I was at the OSU Game this weekend and apparently someone swiped my rear bumper on my max while I was parked. Pretty big bummer but it could have been worse I guess. GRR!! Anyway, Looking to do some touch up painting for the sliver that was damaged. Not sure how he hit me to not dent my bumper, but the paint was def rubbed off in certain places. Anyone know any good web pages or sites that give some guidance on doing touch up paint? Friends have paint guns (probably wrong name) etc but I've never really approached this before, my friends have more experience. Anyone else had any success doing it your self? Not sure what the pro's would charge to get this fixed. Hope to look in to things more this week.



I've got a friend who's been involved in painting classic cars, I may try to pick his brain but I figured I'd ask on the forum too. Any thoughts/suggestions etc would be great. I hope to keep the car another 2+ years because its paid off and still aside from this bumper damage, looking great (2k Max). Thanks guys.

i have damage just like that on my front bumper, i just plan on replacing the whole bumper cause it seems cheaper but my scratches are a bit deeper.

Replacing the bumper seems extreme since the struture of the bumper hasnt changed (wasnt caved in, or broken), just the paint rubbed off. How much is a new bumper setting you back? Does it come painted?

Anyone else have thoughts?

Are you sure the paint hasn't been scuffed up rather than rubbed off. Because if it is just scuffed, you can just buff it out.

If you got a friend who does painting, just leave it to him. Otherwise, you can get OK results with some fine grit sanding and spray paint made for plastics. I did this on a rental and they didn't notice. And it was a black car too.

I'd leave it up to your friends or take it to a professional that way theres no chance of messing it up.
