Turn signal not working.

Well.....another problem with my max, first the stalling now this. The turn signal doesn't blink or make the ticking noise when I'm using it. But then sometimes it works. And when It doesn't I would have to give it a little juggle.
Any idea(battery, fuse...etc)? It really suck not have the signal.

Sounds like the turn signal arm itself. Perhaps one of teh connections is loose. Open up the steering column cover and take a look. More than likely you will find the signal arm or a connnection is loose.

It only takes 5 screws from the bottom to open up the steering column cover.

Sounds like the fuse is about to go. My just started to go bad the other week and it ticks at a really fast rate now. Its about to go at any moment. Which is funny considering I had my car serviced about a month 1/2 ago . ( icelandic remembers that rip-off)

You might want to check the blinker relay. If that checks good then check your blinker fluid

i knew someone was going to mention the Fluid...
just look at the bulb first and then look at the relay and fuses.. and NOT at any fluid

Bulbs are good, fuse looks good(the one under the dash), I have no idea where the fuse in the engine compartment is located(labels are confusing).

If your turn signal is blinking twice as fast as usual it means that the light bulb for the light itself is burnt out. When it happened to me it took a few days for me to figure it out.

If the 00-01 arm is the same as the 02-03, I have one for sale.

lol.......ok would it still be working if it was a bad fuse or relay, cause my signal will work when it wants to. I need to fix this quick. I feel like a a-hole for not using my signals.

Yes, a bad fuse can still work, it is a blown fuse that will not work at all.

Just bought some new fuses and thats not it. How would I check the relay and what do I look at? Is the signal relay under the dash, cause its not in the relay box.

Get a chilton's and it'll show you where the relay is. operate your turn signal and you should be able to feel it clicking. If not, Take a multimeter/voltmeter to check for incoming voltage. If there is and the signal does not work, then the relay is the problem

I found where the flasher is located, maybe thats the problem. When I hit the signals or the hazards I feel/hear a clicking sound from it. Again sometimes it works, most of the times it doesn't.

I read some reviews and the chilton book for the maxima doesn't really help if you have a 5th gen max.

I'm feeling desperate enough to go to a Nissan dealer to get rape tomorrow.
Would be funny if I have to pay $100 or more for a $15-20 part.
