My friend has a 2000 infinity G20, the only thing I like about it is that when he turns his car off the headlights automatically shut off. I wish I had this when leaving me headlights on all day (in NJ its a law that you have to have them on when it's raining, and It was bright out, when I parked I didnt even realize they were still on) One question is do the 5th gens turn off auto? Thanks!

 

Yup, they will turn off automatically.

 

The 5th generation Max has auto shutoff headlights provided that you set it in the auto setting.

 

or you can leave them them in the "on" setting. Both work. Try it.

 

If you have it in the "auto" position, the lights turn off when you turn the car off.

If you have the headlight control in the "On" position, it will shutoff as soon as you open the door.

If you want the lights to stay on, you have to turn the switch from "off" to "on" after you've turned the car off and opened the door. What I haven't tested yet is that if you do that, will the headlights go off after 10 minutes when it shuts off any interior lights that were left on. Anyone try this yet?

Yep...no matter where the switch is at, they shut off with the ignition.
