Loud!!!

Help, my max is so loud when im driving around, specially when fast on the highway it gets really loud. I had radiator checked and it was fine. If someone has any ideas help. My mechanic said it might have something to do with tranny. Could it be tires? Help.

why would it be your radiator or tranny?

most likely worn tires, out of alignment, or an exhaust leak.........

radiators don't make any noise

Most likley your tires.

Is it engine noise, or ambient noise?

What kind of asphalt is on the highway? Blacktop or agglomerate?

Well, my car is just about as quiet as any Lexus out there, but I doubt you'd want to do what I did.

Aside from ^^^^, changing your tires & adding some weatherstripping to the rear window gaskets, there is precious little else you can do.

LOL, I doubt I want to do what you did but changing the tires sounds like a plan. I want to get Yokohama Avid V4S, I heard they are really good but cost $103 each on tirerack. So im looking to spend over $400 unless someone knows where to get them cheaper.

I had Yokohama AVSdB and they were quite but wore off within 40K miles (as advertised).

I think what you had are different from V4S but still 40K is pretty good. Any idea besides tirerack where to get these cheaper?

The thing about tirerack I hate is not knowing when the tire was manufactured. The prices are great, but then if the prices are great, I wonder if the manufacturer dumped all old tires out to tirerack. This is just a presumption, no data to prove/disprove.

I bought my Yokohama tires from tirerack last time and I after watching this program on "60 minutes" about old tires on vehicles and the dangers, I was convinced I might as well shell out the bucks knowing when the damn thing was manufactured. Hence, this time went to Costco and got BF touring knowing it was manufactured in WW26 of this year.
