Dual exhaust options?

Despite not being a true dual exhaust system (exhaust piping heading backward from each header set) I know that someone makes a quasi-dual exhaust system for us 5th genners. Who has it? How does it sound?

I'm a big of it dual exhausts, aesthetically and am considering this as an aesthetic mod and not performance.

Custommaxima makes the dual exhaust. They've got some sound clips. I'd get an aftermarket rear bumper or try to cut out some of the stock bumper for the second set of exhaust tips so that it looks stock.

Is it worth it performance wise or no?

I think thats the main thing I envy about the 6th gen. The dual exhausts really add a sporty demeanor to the rear of the car. The rear of our cars is about as boring as the rear of a camry.

I too would love to have some dual exhuasts, however, those pictures on that site above don't quite look the way I would like a dual exhaust setup to look on our cars. I'm can't put my finger on what I don't like, however.

I'm pretty sure Pearlmax2000 has the custommaxima dual exhaust.

Not really a big fan of the sound based off of the clips from CM. Then again I do not know what they have upfront, if it is still stock, y-pipe or headers. They all have big differences in sound.

I am guessing the piping is 2.5", which might be to big for a dual setup, I would think it would flow poorly.

the thing i don't like about that setup is the size of the tips...if they looked like the 6th gen's do, and the bumper was moulded like that to make it look like it was stock, then i would like it a lot more...

I think a muffler shop would be able to take care of the tips.

I wish they made a true dual exhaust system for our cars....I wouldn't mind one if they didn't look like crap..

I think the fact that our headers are a twin-piece set automatically prevents us from ever having that. We'd need independent everything, from engine and rearward, if we wanted a true dual exhaust setup -- parrallel piping, having two of everything.

Yeah. I think, with a ton of work, it's pretty possible, actually. You'd just need to do a lot of sculpting underneath the car, as well.

Not enough room to do it if you have a drop. However, I'll work on Redlinemax.com for a dual exhaust rear bumper if I get enough "hell-ya's". Corey just finished the front and will be doing a rear in the near future. No reason why it can't be done.

Incidentally, the pic of the red 4th gen is actually Corey's car way back when he was sponsored by them. That was years before he bought Redlinemax.com. I know the pics don't look good, but in person the car is smooth.

It'd be nice if he could do a double cut out on a stock bumper and sell them in exchange for your single-cut OEM bumper.

I think he's going to want to do a completely new bumper. Too much labor to do a change like that. It's less expensive to just do a new one if the mold is made. Trust me, it won't be riced out.

so far, no company has come up with a rear bumper that looks better than the stock one. All of the aftermarket ones out there are just plain FUGLY! All those stupid fins and crap :

btw....not only does the fake CM dual exhaust not add power, but it also adds extra weight, which is like losing a little power.

I agree on both accounts, but I think Corey has something in mind that even you'll like...
