I was wondering what the hp increase is by adding a CAI vs Stock system?
Thanks

I have heard that you can aim a high velocity fan at the car to test the difference.
I am curious if anyone has tried?

We did CAI plus y-pipe on a fed spec 2k 5spd. Together they gave 13 hp to the wheels. This was the same result we got when testing a Stillen cone intake with a y-pipe. The cai may provide better results when the vehicle is moving because of air flow. Aiming a fan would probably have only a nominal effect in actual hp.

I doubt you could attribute more than 3-4 wheel hp to the cai. The rest is probably y-pipe or synergy between the two (i.e. more air in and out together provides a better result than just adding the numbers for an intake alone and a ypipe alone).

FYI, our Accord V6'ers usually see around 10whp or so (give or take a couple) from the AEM CAI that's available for our cars. That might not be relevant to the Max, but I figured I'd throw it in there anyways just for comparison...

I don't remember who the poster was but the guy was claiming the his OSCAI gave him 10 HP to the wheels

I don't even claim that my place racing CAI gives me that much!!!

The stock intake setup on the V6 Accord is pretty restrictive. In comparison, I think the stock maxima setup is a bit more free flowing....
