I want to keep my stock springs and just replace the struts...do I really need the adjustable illuminas then?

...no...but for an extra $150, the ride quality really is that much better.

Agree, you can adjust the level of stiffness you want to improve handling, I order mine from SCO for 410 shipped, talk to Steve, he can hook you up with it.

so you can run tokicko gas shocks with stock springs and nobody has blown them yet? if thats the case, it will save people some $$$ getting aftermarkets springs if they dont mind keeping the whale of a gap.

i was about to buy from this guy but it was so hard to get a hold of him to answer some of my questions and i've read his feedback and people say it's hard to get a hold of him as well. well anyways i ended up buying some new tokico blues for $400 installed. i was gonna get the illuminas but i figure i'm not gonna be adjusting it much so i just got the blues. so far so good...they were actually pretty stiff the first time i drove it after the install but after a few days they got softer and the ride is really really smooth right now. i love them

edit: are the illuminas that much better for the maxima? i've had them on my previous car and i didn't like the ride at all...it's stiff and harsh even on softest =/

Of course... usually only lowering springs tend to increase the likelihood of the strut blowing.

Not if he's using only settings 1 or 2 on the Illuminas and then never gonna change em, then he may as well get HPs.

I bought my HPs for $150 plus shipping and my Illuminas for $300 picked up... both of which I found in the 5th Gen Classifieds.
