Not that I have ever heard of, but that would be cool. The S4 has the Bose too, so it might be possible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the BOSE in our systems refer to the speakers themselves, not the head units. Somewhere in this forum says our head units are Clarions (tweeters also?), in which IMO, are not really that great. Hope I can change the unit out but the UDP comes first (soon)

The head unit in the S4 is probably a Blaupunkt, Alpine or something...

No the head unit IS Bose also. The cassette tape flap has Bose printed upon it as a Bose unit and the Bose site: (www.bose.com) speaks of special equalization their products send to the speakers.

Hmm... dunno if this is useful but::

0/0/0/0 unlocks an additional 47.382 HP
0/0/0/7 switches to AWD
0/0/0/6 activates self-destruct
0/0/7/6 warps your rotors...

You never know if Clarion is the OEM for the Bose HU.

OEM means original equipment manufacturer...
basically a subcontractor.

For example, my old '96 Honda Accord had a "Honda" radio but was really made by Alpine. Likewise, the Bose stereo is engineered and spec'd out by Bose, but the HU could possibly be made by Clarion or any other company... judging by the cd changer, this could be the case. However some OEM partnerships are kept on the down low, so you really never know. On the other hand, it's cheaper for a company to OEM a product than actually making it yourself.

Clarion has been making the Bose headunit since like 1989 atleast becuase that is the oldest one that I saw... When u pull it out it has a big sticker on it that says Clarion on it... its not a secret with them... Bose just tunes it for the actual car that its in...

Well, it looks like that hack doesn't work on our units. I tried the hack with just about every combination that I could do with 21 fingers.

Actually, all the Bose units in our cars are made by Clarion, BUT, Bose gives them the specs, etc to use when making the system.

S4 head unit is made by Matushiba in Japan, I work for Audi as a technician, there is a 9 month back order on the radios, they suck *** big time. Sound wise they are great. Nissan head units are Clarion, and mids and sub is BOSE. I used to work at Nissan. If U hold preset 5 and POWER on S4 U get a 9 band EQ, its barely noticable but its there. U can also adjust sensitivity of the radio, test radio station signal, test the speakers with the radio...all kinds of nifty doo dadds... too bad the radios go out ALL the time. The head unit is same on NON BOSE and BOSE Audis, its a Symphony radio- just a Audi name for radios.... if U talk to anyone working at the dealer about "THE Symphony" they will tell U how many cars they got waiting for them for months Thats what U get for buy a Audi. BTW all Audis from cheap 20K dollar 1.8L A4 to the 90K dollar S8 use the same radio... Just that if the radio in the S8 goes out, AUDI will overnite U one ASAP, if one in a 1.8L goes out U are on the 9 month waiting list. See something strange going on ??
