I'm sorry for you, but I'm shure you just learn a hard lesson. You should be happy to be alive and well, soon you wont even think about it, just keep in mind it's just a car that can be replace with a better one, it sad but that's the way it is.

Good luck and hope you find another one.

Cheers

Wow the strangest thing happend today on my way to school. I saw a similar accident a girl was goin 2 taking a turn in a neighborhood and over corrected and drove her car thru a brick wall!... I was late 2 class because of her. Hers was like yours but you didnt have a pile of bricks on top of your car. But i kinda found it funny after a while b/c she did cut me off a few minutes before the accident. And i did get 2 see a man who came out his house screaming and he wore body hair as an form of clothing.

wow, i'm really sorry to see that....were you driving on bad tires? sometimes we get too over-confident and think we can do anything, but when something like this happens, we really have to sit back and think about what we do before doing it....if your car isn't paid off, i hope you have gap insurance, because when my brother totaled his car, there was 2k left on the loan that the insurance didn't pay, so that gap insurance covered the rest....

Hey man, I am real sorry for your loss.
I would cry too becuase you invested so much time and a lot of hard earned money into making her just like you want.

Put it this way, heres your chance to redo it and skip on the mistakes.
Real sorry dude, good luck with the estimator.

AND YES IT DOES!
I had my car do a 180 on the ramp of the highway next to the brooklyn bridge. I was going 15mph and it just started to snow.

That sucks, you had a nice ride too. Good luck w/the insurance process..prepared to be raped on your next ride being only 18.

I was going 30 in a 25 around a bend in an SUV when I was 17. Back wheel hit a small bump while going around the curve, it was raining out, next thing I know there's a telephone pole inside my car near the center console. SUV slid sideways into the pole, the SUV was totalled. $hit happens, it prbs could have been avoided w/more driving experience under one's belt..but, at least you're not hurt.

thank you so much for the support guys im still in shock that this happened to me
If they total the car out then they get to keep all the stock parts. If your car is modded and you want to keep the parts after the modding either record how much each costs or take the parts off and return it to stock. When my TL was totalled I couldn't get my sway bars off (only mod at the time), they were around $300 and they just tacked it on to the check they cut me.

GL with all this and I hope they're generous.

I read the first post, he should have put it in there if he was explaining the "accident" and not his intentional negligence and stupidity when driving a vehicle. Granted, he was in an accident and it was probably his fault.

He should have came on the board and said: I was f***ing around, hit a curve to fast in the rain and wrecked. Instead he said he didn't know what happened. Give me a break.

it was cold and snowing, that happens and it's nobody's fault.

I'm a Firefighter down here in MD and see all kind's of accidents every week of my life. I see how they are caused, and it's usually people being negligent. Sure, snow is an issue, not somebody's fault. Rain, even a small curve, most people aren't going to wreck.

Say what you want, I have my opinions and you have yours.

What the hell is everybody's deal with giving your unecessary and totally inappropriate opinions about how he was driving. At no point in his post did he ask anybody to give their opinions about how the accident happened. He was simply sharing what happened to him because he was upset and figured some .org members would have nice things to say. Even the most highly respected .org members have modifications that are considered illegal and most everybody does illegal things while driving once in a while, so calm down. This isn't directed at anybody in particular, but I think it's kind of rude to come in here when he's already lost the car that he loves and then tell him that he drives like an idiot when none of us can possibly know what happened. With that said...Sorry about your car...it was really nice...I'm sure you'll be able to make another one just as good tho...Good luck

[QUOTE=kcowden]It doesn't matter much now as to how fast he was going or what "could have happened" The young guy wrecked his baby.... have some compassion. Have some compassion? would you still say that if some kids were playing around the corner where he spun out? Too young, with too much car, remember this kid ?.

4 families face consequences of fatal crash[B]

By Bernie Biernacki

Staff writer

3 die in wreck; driver to be arraigned June 20

Four families continue to grieve over the loss of three loved ones who died in a single-car crash May 25, and what fate awaits the surviving driver.

Shelley Dogra, 25, of Wheaton, will be arraigned Monday, June 20, on three counts of reckless homicide for a crash that killed his cousins Esther Rao, 22, and Marell Charan, 27, both of Wheaton, and a family friend, Nirav Mehta, 28, of Chicago.

After being released from Central DuPage Hospital May 28, where he had been under guard since May 25, Dogra was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

On May 29, he was taken before DuPage County Associate Judge Blanche Hill Fawell, who ordered him to turn in his U.S. passport, wear an electronic-monitoring device and not to drive or use alcohol.

The judge reduced the state's attorney's $1 million bond request to $500,000, and after his family posted a $50,000 bond, Dogra was released to his family, with whom he lives.

Until the incident, the only traffic citations Dogra, an electrical engineer, had received were for speeding several years ago.

During the bond hearing, prosecutor Steven Knight said hospital tests taken some four hours after the accident, proved Dogra's blood-alcohol level was .14, close to twice the legal limit of .08.

Funeral services for Mehta, a neurology physician, were held May 27, and combined services for Rao and Charan were held May 31.

Should he be convicted on all counts, Dogra faces up to 28 years in prison.

Police said the four had been at a barbecue at Dogra's Wheaton home, but left after 11 p.m. May 24. Police said the four had been drinking prior to their leaving for an unidentified nearby club.

At about 2 a.m. the four left and were driving on Indian Knolls Road, a twisting, undulating, heavily tree-lined road in unincorporated Winfield. With Dogra at the wheel of the 2002 Nissan Maxima, the car failed to make a curve in the 1N500 block of Indian Knoll Road, east of Route 59, and about a mile north of Geneva Road.
Just missing a home, the car cut through one tree and slammed into a second tree, which split the car in two.
While area residents report hearing a crashing sound at about 2:30 a.m., all thought it was thunder.

At about 5:30 a.m. a jogger saw the crash off the east side of the road and called authorities. Dogra was found at the scene, injured and in an incoherent state.

At a press conference May 26, DuPage County State's Attorney Joseph Birkett called the incident a tragedy for all involved. And despite the fact Dogra does not have a criminal history and up to the time of the incident had led a productive life, he still must be prosecuted.

What do you expect when you post on here. The picture he posted and his story did not add up in some of our humble opinions. A lot of us pointed that out. What is wrong with that?

Shut up. Idiot drivers give the car in general a bad image and make us target for cops. You see how well that went over for the Civic drivers after TFATF. You drive like a maniac, trend continues, we all suffer. Not saying this doesn't suck, but he got pwn3d for driving faster than he should have been.

That's a pretty ridiculous statement. There were all types of car in that awful movie as well including a Maxima that were all driving and looking stupid. There are accidents every day in every type of car bc people are driving in different manners for different reasons and nobody is void of an accident happening to them. You have no basis to call him an idiot and a "maniac" driver and you also were certainly not there to see what happened...end of story

(1) Why did he so sheepishly wait to tell us how fast he was going?
(2) Cars DO NOT get totaled like that when doing 25mph
(3) No I did not see the accident happed, but neither did you, thereby making your entire arguement null and void.

...end of story.

My entire argument to it is that none of this discussion was necessary in the first place...His Max got totalled. He obviously just wanted nice comments to make him feel better...That's like breaking your arm playing football and somebody yelling at you and telling you that you were stupid and a maniac for thinking that you could get around a player on the opposing team when all you should really be doing is saying sorry to a contributing member of your "team" (in this case maxima.org)

I make nice comments to people whom have bad fortune when it is not on their own merit.

When you mess up, you pay for it. That's life.

even if it was raining, this shouldn't happen to performance tires at 30MPH, and based on his expensive rims, im assuming his tires should have been good quality performance tires.

Stop your whining. This is an internet forum, where people exchange comments, ideas etc. If you don't like it, don't come on here. End of story.

whenever someone does something stupid and injures themselves or their property there's always comments on both sides of the issue. this guy was obviously driving too fast for the conditions or his ability and totalled his car. i've done several idiotic things while behind the wheel in my younger days, but learned quick to drive within my limits and according to the conditions. he'll learn the same. personally i don't like whiners, especially when whining about self-inflicted pain, but i can relate. nothing wrong with calling someone out for doing dumb ish, but at the same time going overboard with the criticism isn't really necessary....sometimes.

btw thanks Max'dMatt2k3

Part of this is the insult people feel when you say that much damage was caused by a 25 MPH hit. Because we all know that the Maxima is made out of pop cans in the rear end right? I was rear ended sitting still in traffic on the expressway by a woman doing 50+ and did not have that much damage. she hit me in the right rear quarter, lifted up the car, broke her front axel, hooked it on my tire, and hit me again in the right front fender. The force needed to get the firehydrant that far into the body was more than 25 mph. Had he said I screwed up and here is the result, learn from me, as NO ONE WAS HURT, it would be differnt.

Here's how I see the rub...

The guy starts out "Totalled my baby..i cant find the words to describe it". He is looking for a sympathetic ear. Unfortunatley his story, the picture and the tag line don't add up right.

If it really was his "baby", what was he doing going so fast to take out a mail box and a crash into a hydrant? - Goo God - is that anyway to treat "your baby"?

Others are right in saying that his tag line should have been "Boy did I screw up!". At least it would have made sense. He is asking for us to feel sorry for him when it is clear he did something dumb with his car. The fact that he lost control of it to the extreme demonstrated in the photo is enough evidence for me.

He did not total his baby - he abused his toy. Like I tell my kids all the time "if you play with it like that, don't come crying to me when you break it"... And I have no sympathy for them when they push the limmit and break something. "Oh well" I'll say as I throw it in the trash... "I hope you learned something".

Bottom line is don't come crying to me about your car with a photo & story like that. You abused it.
