hmmm....why not? he totaled a car that he loves.

Yea that day I bet right when he woke up he thought about spinning out and hitting a mail box on purpose. Boy you sure are smart! Whats wrong with going 30-40mph? it is certainly not testing the capabilities of his car

Extreme demonstration? of what? I have gone around corners going 35 when its raining (speed limit is 45) and I can feel my back end start to slide (thanks to oem tires) he took a corner to sharp his error you think he doesn't feel like **** for that?

He wasn't "pushing it to the limit" I didn't know that 30-40mph was to the limit. SO that must mean when I go on the freeway going 65-80 mph that my car is super, cuz the limit is 30-40mph.

He was going over the speed limit. Your telling me that you NEVER in your life gone over the speed limit. Bish plz.....

My car is my baby, I race it, I take it to autocross. So are you saying that people who accually take there cars to the limit on a track that there cars arn't there babies?

Firehydrant=1, Maxima=0

I thought hydrants were supposed to break of easily?

Always seems like they pop right off when struck by a car....

Sure - I have a lot of fun in my car and I love to push it. But I never drive out of control - regardless of speed or road conditions. And if I ever did I would be the first to admit that I went over the top & except the blame.

It is clear he was out of control, in a residential area to boot. Even you admit that... "he took a corner to sharp his error you think he doesn't feel like **** for that?" Taking it to the limit does not imply stupendous speed - just too fast for experience or conditions.

And if YOU drive in a neighborhood in a manner that is out of control (not to say that you do)... then I would have bad commentaries for you as well.
No freeways have a 30-40 mph speed limit. ("SO that must mean when I go on the freeway going 65-80 mph that my car is super, cuz the limit is 30-40mph."). Those are residential speeds. The road out front of my house is 35 - I would hope to never see you tooling down the street at 80.

Anyone who attempts to show accidents cause cops to target certain cars more should shut up themselves. That link is so strained it's ridiculous.

You mentioning we haven't seen the accident makes arguments re: speed "null and void." Wouldn't that void your argument as well esp. considering you offered up your bro's example as some sort of backing for your claim -- no one here has seen that either. Ntm., following your logic would just make all these arguments re: his speed/damage "null and void."

IBTL.

Im just saying maybe you should be more careful with what you post. From that other one you were pretty much saying that anyone who enjoyed driving (racing, autocross etc) wasn't taking care of there car. He was in fault, but im not going to give him **** for it. He knows and thats all that matters, i mean if it had happened to me i would be pretty pissed that it had happened, and kept on going through the moments before I wrecked in my mind, thinking about what I could have done so that it wouldn't have happened.

If you take your car to an autocross, track or just have some fun on the street – your car is not your baby it’s your TOY. You can not enjoy abusing ‘your baby’

IF YOU ABUSE YOUR CAR IT BECOMES YOUR TOY!

I am not saying that it’s wrong, but don’t call you car a baby if you abuse it.

Another comment: Spirited driving is always dangerous whether it’s on an empty parking lot or the street. It’s a matter of how one perceives the danger. One person thinks that street racing is dangerous. Someone thinks the same about auto-x. If you from time to time, should we say, like to enjoy your car’s handling and dynamic abilities, not matter where you do it, you are doing something dangerous and don’t call someone else who does, in your opinion, something dangerous an idiot… ‘cause if you do you are calling YOURSELF and idiot.

I admit, I do this stuff sometimes, both on a parking lot and on public roads, but the scariest close call I ever had was on a parking lot – I stopped 3 feet from the light poll. Ironically, the scariest accident I saw happened on a parking lot too – the guy hit the curb and rolled a couple of times.

Sorry to hear about your ride man. No matter what caused the "accident" that day just focus on how you are going to move on. Before you know it you will be back on here, or another board and with a valuable lesson under your belt. Good luck.

Well I been in a few spin outs in my car, pushing the envelope wayyyy too far spining out at 90MPH on a onramp 4 years ago, regained controll after a complete 360 deg spin out and continued on driving. Driving to work I hit some water on a onramp causing a spin out into a ditch, hit a buncha tall standing grass which cushioned everything- damage ? ALOT of dirt, it looked like a Jeep that just got back from going muddin. I must say I abuse my car ALOT, I stretch the envelope pretty hard with crazy speeds of over 140MPH at times, I go road racing, autoXing in it. I love my car, 130+K miles and she looks good as new, and has a heart of a lion.

I am not saying that it’s wrong, but don’t call you car a baby if you abuse it.
I consider my car my baby. And I call it my baby, all ways will. It is built to do what it does, I don't understand if you are using something the way it was meant to be used how is that abusing it? And buy built I don't mean stock settings, I mean like after market, since I am building it. I am intending for it to do what it does.

Sorry if ^^^doesn't make sense, its 3 am here

And i did get 2 see a man who came out his house screaming and he wore body hair as an form of clothing.

Please don't be late for school again, and pay close attention to your English class.

Okay, after reading most of this topic I would just like to add my opinion, and here it is;

1) Posted speed limit 25mph, speed at time of incident (supposedly) 28-30mph, speeding threw a residential area.
2) Raining (supposedly) and therefore he was supposed to reduce his speed accordingly for weather/driving conditions which he obviously and admitantly did not.
3) Speeding in to a "sharp" corner (assumed from the turning sharply statement) is never smart even in the best of conditions.

I'm too tired to get more involved with this post so in conclusion:

This accident was avoidable in many ways, all by fault of the driver. Everyone can feel sorry for him if they want to, but I have no remorse for him at all. I am just glad that he did not injure anyone.
