Please Help ASAP! Taking off Rear Rotor

I'm trying to get the rear rotor off but it is not coming off. Do I just need to keep on banging it until it comes off or am I missing something? Do I need to take off the center hub from the rotors? There seems to be a round center hub before the rotors. Please Help!!!

If you read the maintenance manual it tells you to use a properly sized bolt inserted in the threads of the rotor and tightened to push the rotor off. Do not bang on anything... wow....

if you don't have hub centric rings (they're usually plastic), you can take a hammer to the rotors. not the pad contact part but the center, between the lug bolts. that's what i had to do since mine were rusted on. just hit, turn, and grab the rotor with one hand and wiggle. keep doing that till it breaks loose.

there may be a e-brake adjustment inside the rotor that you should back off before taking the rotor off. I'm not sure if the Max's are that style inparticular... but you should look on the backside of the rotor for a piece of rubber that's plugging up a hole that goes into the inside of the rotor (behind the hub). There may be a little sprocket that you have to wind down to pull the rotor off easily. if you turn the sprocket one way your rotor wont move at all, the other way it'll spin freely. Once you've got it to spin freely tap the rotor off. But be sure to re-adjust it when you put it all back together or your e-brake wont work the same. Otherwise you could stretch or disconnect some of the e-brake assembly if you muscle the rotor off with out doing this...

thanks guys. I got so worried that I even called the service department at my dealer. They just told me to hammer it off because there is no other way. After about 15 mins of hard hammering it finally came off... wow i though I was gonna die... anyways what an experience. Replaced all for rotors and pads for the first time... took me like 6 hours due to complications like the rotors getting stuck and everything being rusted together.... i hope nothing goes wrong... I drove it around to get the rotors broken in. I thought I heard a small high pitched sound but not sure where... Hope it goes away as I drive around some more.
