So, funny story. Last year, when I had my suspension redone, I didn't know that I should've cut off a portion of the bumpstop to keep the ride feeling smooth. So I went down to Maximum Tuning today and asked him to trim down the bumpstops only at the front to an approriate level. Jeff informed me that trimming the first piece wouldn't do much, so I said "ok, let's do the second one too." Jeff warned me that it increases eventual strut failure, but I felt the need to take my chances.

Well, after all is I said and done...I'm quite happy with the results. The increased suspension travel now allows me to hit bumps softer than before. The ideal test for this was a school bump that's positioned near my house. As I went over the once harsh school bump, the struts absorbed far more of the impact than before. Needless to say, I was really happy with the results. Now the car looks good (with the drop) and rides every bit as well, too. =D

And as for the funny part: when Jeff took off the struts from the springs...we noticed that BOTH of the bump trims had broken off, down to exactly where I wanted it to. So he didn't even cut them off or anything, since they were already cut off. He just removed them and that's it. Pretty weird. :P

i am re-doing my struts this week, and need to do the same. i got h&rs, which are pretty similar to maxspeeds.
