Difference between trims?

first off, before you guys start your yelling, I searched .. and searched..
couldnt find anything.

I also checked the stickies.. no FAQ or anything (although it should be)

I did find this:
Look in the engine bay at the firewall. There should be a metal plate with your VIN number stamped on it. Below the VIN number on the plate is another number. It should be something like this:

BLJULTYA33EUA-----

Here's a breakdown of what that code means:

B = Sedan
LJ = Engine (see below)
U = 2WD Axle
L = Left Hand Drive
T = Trim Level (see below)
A = Transmission Type (see below)
A33 = Car Model
E = EGI Intake
N = Emissions Type (see below)
A = Seating Capacity
Where exactly is this metal plate located? In the car or engine bay?

What are cosmetic differences in the gxe vs se?

From what I gathered ...

- Gxe has chrome colored door handles, se has body colored
- Gxe has chrome window trim, se has body colored
-Gxe has crappy seats, se has leather or better cloth.
-gxe has hub caps, se has rims
-gxe has worse suspension
-gxe is rare with bose

Now, let's say the guy got an aftermarket headunit, changed his springs, changed rims and tires. [also possible to change window trim and door handles].

Any other way to tell?

[probably the method above is best.. but let me know]

Thanks alot guys!

GXE and GLE have the same suspension. The SE is just more sportier and rougher. I love my GXE/GLE luxury suspension. Dont forget even though its a GXE, its still a maxima which was nissians top model for a sedan.

GXE cloth seats=SE cloth seats.

SE has white gauges. SE also have black surrounding tail lights. SE has that little round tail cap while GXE does not.

The tailights on a SE have a black surround on them while the GXE and GLE are red.
Let me find a pic::

Ohh and btw, GXE come in hub caps or GXE rims which were a lil bit ugly but exist

These are chrome, but imagine them not and they came on GXE:

Also, most gxe had a cover to where the fog lights go, which come standard on the GLE and I believe also on the SE

if there's one thing i learned from buying a GLE, never ever buy a GLE......

just get SE and put on options u want, the speed limiter on the GLE sucks.....

i didnt like my GLE for a few reasons...soft stock suspension, "chrome" door handles, wood-grain accents, small ugly standard wheels, etc

i didnt crash it...someone pulled in front of me

funny thing is, i joked about it for a long time. i was wondering how to total my car and make it look like an accident.
then a chick failed to yield and i hit her. it happened so quick that i actually tried to avoid the accident

spoiler = "sporty"

SE = "sport edition"

GLE = "luxury edition"

GXE = base edition
