of course, I've changed it to red now...which is much easier on the eyes when driving for long times at night

replacing the dash LEDs requires a great deal of effort and patience....I wouldn't suggest it if you're not good with the electronics though.....I managed to ruin my original climate control doing it the first time....

is the 5.5 gen gauge cluster different from 5 gen?
i think it may be reverse glow, or day-glow, or whatever it's called. the silver gauge with dark needle, as opposed to dark gauge and light needle.

No, the 2001 SE came with silver gauges...the needles are all the same.

No, the only way to get the SE guages to get real bright like Metal's is that you have to sand/shave the coating behind the guages. This allows more light to pass thru, but I heard it was a more pain in the a$$ to do than just leaving it alone. Correct me if I am wrong, Metal?

Any LED's with 5000 mcd or more is hella bright. It will light up the interior nicely. Here is one of the few LED mod's in my car. This is a night pic of LED's shining on the shifter. (The LED's are installed under the auto A/C unit.) More pics on my homepage.

jeez, all that extra light in the car has to be annoying at night. especially leds that look like bright pin-points of light. if i were to replace **** with leds, i would get really dim ones.
