What a way to start the day....with a ?

So I wake up this morning, do my stuff and get to the car at 6:15AM, and I see my drivers side mirror hanging on the door by the wires. Then I scope out the rest of the car and find scratches and paint chips along the quarter panel and both the doors, grrrr!! Luckily my led mirror turn signal survived only with a 1 inch scrach on the cover. Only had the max for like 3 months and this bs happens Ahh the perks of living in a big city!! Now I'm not sure if I should try to go through my insurance to pay up or not? I have full coverage, but I'm not sure if they will raise my insurance if I go through them. I think my deductible is $500. Any one have any knowledge or experiance in this area? Thanks Greg.

Go to a place that gives free estimates and see how much damage is done. Go from there, because if its only like 1,000 then i wouldnt go thru insurance. If its more thenthat i might.

replaceing the mirror will be less than $500, so if you make the report to your insurance company, youll just have to pay for it anyway.

If you claim it as a hit and run and they check to see that it is right, then I think you just pay for the deductible. Your insurance does not go up

Could be different though depending on what kind of insurance you have

it depends on the insurance company. some raise your rates on vandalism claims, and some don't. check with your company to be sure. i know progressive and grange do not, but who knows what yours will do.
