Hey All,

Picked up a UDP from Stillen today and the dork rep gave me the wrong part numbers for the two Gates belts needed. I refused to pay $40 for their "special" belts. I think he was jerking me around on purpose. Anyway, anyone got a line on the correct Gates or equivalent belt part numbers for the UDP? Thanks in advance...

Nice homepage, but I didn't find any part numbers for the belts. How do you like the carbon fiber dash kit?

Thanks!

I found it

The dash kit is nice. It adds some flavor to the interior.

Where can you buy the belts from? Go to PepBoys or Kragen and ask them if they carry them. If they don't, ask them if they know of any places that carry them. The Kragen dude told me to go to Ketco to purchase the belts.

o so basically its something that would be in stock at one of the car stores like strauss, autozone, and other auto part stores right? its not like a special order thing... also those part #s on there are they specific for that brand or do those #s mean what size it is and all companies will have the same #s?

Yes, they should have it in stock but I don't guarantee it. When you get the UDP, the instructions will tell you which belt to get. Follow those directions... that's what I did.

Any auto parts place can cross-reference the part numbers. The three digit numeral is the length of the belt (for example Kev used belts of length 292 and 408), last single digit is the width (again, Kev had a 4 and a 6). This is pretty much common on all belt makers. I initially used Kelly Springfield belts (P/N 407K6 and 290K4). I am certain that these would have worked, but I couldn't get my power steering to loosen up like it was supposed to, so I had to shop around for a belt that would put the power steering pump in about the same place as the stock belt. I ended up using a belts that were 305 and 407 long.

No, that doesn't sound right. 408mm would only be 16 inches, which is way to short to be the length of the belt. This might coorelate to the span between two "standard-sized" pulleys if this belt was used. Also for the widths, 4mm and 6mm would be way to narrow. The "6" belt is about 3/4" thick, I think. Maybe this number cooresponds to the number of ribs on the inside of the belt. Sorry, but I don't have my belts handy, or else I'd check this theory myself.

I wish

they could get most parts on some kind of size rating like tires and belts. It would be nice when picking out oil filters, etc.
