like he said, he wants to make sure its the trans.

Got a 5 speed and mine is doing the same thing. I know its the clutch slipping. Going to get the clutch replaced in the next week or two. Good luck!

wat da crap is VIAS? haha. shows how much i know. but yes it could be the CLUTCH PACKS, not single clutch as ppl are saying. or perhaps ur torque converter. thats why u should service ur tranny at regular intervals and check for fluid (over/under fills)!!!

seriously, hold 2nd gear and see what happens at WOT. 1st there isnt enough load.

then try it in 3rd, on the freeway or somewhere where you can get some speed without endangering anyone.

along with suggestions of MAF and fuel pump, id also like to point out that a catalyst failure can cause this symptom
how does cat failure do that? cats to clean ur exhaust. shouldnt be that different since u have an o2 sensor before the cat as well. ?? or im just stupid

My 2000 I30 auto tranny has done weird things since day one. sometimes if I suddenly punch the gas the tach will shoot to 6K and the car will not accelerate as fast at you would think it should. Other times if I punch it it the tach will go up slower at the car will accelerate faster. (can't tell which gear it is in, but I think in the first case it shifts all the way down to 1st and in the second case it shifts to second)

Ive noticed that the screen inside my maf is really dirty. what would be the symptoms of a dirty MAF? What do I use to clean it? I just dont want to fudge up my MAf since it cost a pretty penny to replace....

I sometimes feel my girl's 2005 SL is running much much better than my 2003 SE.......

Also about the tranny slip, about how many miles does this usually happen?

MAF should definitely not be the problem. its just air flow sensor. keep in mind RPM what transfers it to ur wheels; Tranny.

I had hesitation since the car was brand new. Usually it hesitates when I want to accelerate quickly while going 20-30 mph. It's as if the engine would rev and then the transmission would respond without any jerking as econd later. From a stand still the car always responds immediately.

and exhaust restriction will make the car lose power, and it can get pretty bad. ive had customers describe it similarly. the RPMs go up, but the car doesnt accelerate, when in actuality, it just seems that the RPMs are going up slower than the vehicle is accelerating becaues the pedal is to the floor and the car isnt going anywhere.

it also causes hard shifts, usually.

your rpm's problem sounds like mine. Check it out.

Service engine soon light is on. At Advance Auto Parts codes P0170 and P0171 showed up. They told me O2 sensor I bought four of them ( cost $375 ) guest what!!!!!!!!!, the service engine soon light still on and my car is doing freaking stuff like, doesn't want to go over 4500 rpm, every morning starts like an old chevy car and turns off by itself, sometimes while I'm driving seems like I'm going 100 mph b/c of the reviving of the motor and the car is actually going 55-60 mph. This #*#@&^%#@ is driving me crazy. It is not funny driving on the 408 East-West and see every body pass by when I now have at least 225 hp under my hood. I won't accept a transmission problem for an answer b/c I already tested on 1 and 2 gear and I almost blow off the motor, the car was accelerating very good. Please any help before I surrender to the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Nissan Dealer.

Im haveing similar problems with my 00 MAxima. Do you experience this?
Youre driving at a speed of maybe 55 mph, then you downshift cos youre trying to speed up. The car responds but it feels like you have not even increased your speed at all and the rpm is stuck on maybe 4500 or 5000?

hey guys a quick question. I only have a bolt on Franken car intake, and I guess ive been feeling some slow acceleration when i go from a stand still. I think my maf is dirty. If thats the case, could that be the reason that my car is accelerating slowing than others?

*slow acceleration is when im pushing the gas pedal and the rpms go up but the speed doesnt really pick up*

02 GLE Lost Drive

Sorry to break in but am denied access to start Thread.
My 02 GLE had been making a lright front grinding noise. No noticable CV damage (boot is perfect) but some plastic shrouding rubbing. Removed shrouding and noise continued (mostly while getting underway and cornering). Just lost drive on way home, throttle and engine run fine in neutral but in and drive gear throttle drops to idle and won't respond. Lights and electrics soon dimmed and barely idled into driveway?????? No dash warning lights????

Bose/Clarion system was replaced 5 times under warranty (Nissan uses refurbished parts for warranty work, look closely for blue paint marks on driveline, they may knowingly put defective, refurbished parts in "NEW" vehicles also. Radio works but CD quit (getting ERR F3 code) any ideas?
