While I was driving home, my car's "Check-Engine-Soon" light came on, what could it be? I have 10,000 miles on my 2K1 5sp SE. Should I take it in to the dealer? I haven't installed my intake yet, and don't have any other engine mods. Any help would be appreciated.

Check to make sure your gas cap is on and is tight. My dealer informed me that a loose/missing gas cap will trigger the check-engine light. If this isn't it, I'd immediately stop driving the car and call the dealer - they may want to flat bed the car in. The CE light comes on for a variety of reasons, some of which can lead to engine damage. And, if you keep driving it I wouldn't be surprised if you will be told you have voided your warranty!

If the light is blinking, you've got a problem, but otherwise, its just OBDII telling you you've got some emmissions problem.

Could be a loose gas cap, or a bad sensor. On my old Ford, the light would go off after 4 days if it was a spurious event. (Might have been 4 complete cold-hot-cold cycles.)

Nissan says it should go off after "a few driving trips," but I don't know what that means.

If it doesn't go off, you'll have to go to the dealer.
