Upgrade OEM strus??
#2
Its better that you do.... OEM struts do not have the right compression and rebound damping for those springs.
IMO, adjustables are a good choice because you can adjust the settings of the strut to match whatever springs you choose.
See the following site for more details:

Btw, if you need local help with the install or wanna check out some of our set-ups, post in the DC forums.

Oem.
In addition to adjustable struts giving you the ability to match the damping to the springs (adjustables let you match to various springs by different manufacturers), you should take into account that OEM struts will wear out very quickly with after market springs, and the greater the lowering and spring rate the faster the already accelerated wear will occur).
I had stock struts (40k miles on them) and installed progress springs: 1) the struts didn't match the springs well and 2) th struts were taking an extreme beating, I could actually feel them degrading over the 9k miles I had them on b/f switching to my new Illuminas. I wish I had saved the time/effort and did the struts and springs at the same time instead of suffering with the OEM struts and then having to do the work all over again.
Good sites and threads about different kind of struts available. Take it from me, mine as well do all the work now b/c OEM struts will leave you wanting to change them ASAP anyway with lowering springs.
