yes, my climate control is now fully functional after dealing with 3 dealers, 5 mean service advisers, and 3 dumb@ss technicians.

the real problem is : LOW ON FREON!!!!

I told them to check that since the very beginning..they said a new car wont have this problem.....They checked the hoses and said they are good. Then, they started to mess around with my car....keep replacing parts and doing meaningless diagnostics..

these are the parts they've replaced
-AC amplifier
-Ambient temperature sensor
-interior temp sensor
-hoses

they must thank me for filling their wallet with greens.

If I would have known, you could have had some of my freon.. mine was overcharged from the factory and failed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the A/C use R134 as the refrigerant and not freon?

exactly...

thats why mine was overcharged.. they said the factory was using the wrong equipment (or incorrectly calibrated) for R134.

I think we just call anything in the compressor freon out of habit, even if they start using chocolate milk in there, we'd still call it freon.

Hey Maxi..since your parts were under warranty, the techs decided to make a little money. Thank god I work at Nissan dealership, I voided so many warranty items, that If I took it to another Nissan dealer, they wouldn't honor the warranty. :X

> the real problem is : LOW ON FREON!!!!

Same situation on my sister's Corolla. She bought a new Corolla in Feb 00. Last June, the a/c not working at all. Setup a checkup in a Toyota dealer. Drop off the car in the morning, pick it up in the evening.

Problem: no R134
Total time spend: ~1 hour (include commute time)

Service person was nice, technician was nice and clear to explain the problem. We received a survey form to comment our visit.

I guess that's the difference of a Nissan and Toyota service.

If it wasn't I fell for Nissan first, I will probably buy a Toyota (except the Camery is too "old" for me ).

yea, I know....Toyota has some quality cars and they are built to last. but I dun like the look except celica....my family choose toyotas for the past 10 years and my car is the first nissan.

jashick : u r right, they use the newer type of AC um..stuff, R134. The first dealer also kept telling me that R134 is not as cool as freon and I have to show them on a real hot day so they knew the problem. Well, hope they didnt fill freon into my car.

That's pretty funny for a Japanese vehicle. A new car should not have any problems. Now if it were an American car, problems are considered normal.

Exactly why I didn't go for the Toyota. I want a larger car than my '92 NX2000. I only like two Toyota so far, Celica and Solara. Celica is too small, Solara doesn't stand out as my Max.
