I bought a mini HID fog kit for my 03 max from umnitza for 199.
It didn't come with any instructions. Could anyone help me out with installing it?
Is there a how to with pictures?
Where do you put a ballast and ignitor?

There should be some holes on the frame. Use zip-tie to secure the ballast.

Don't put too close to the engine, coz heat may destory ballast.

i ordered the same 6k kit from Umnitza as well and was wondering where people placed the ignitor and ballast.. i was told in order to make the bulb fit holes had to be drilled. obviously they cant dangle around in there so i was just curious how people secured them and protected them from the elements. (ballast and ignitor)

The holes have to be drilled on the dust cover, not the fog housing. Also, the kit should be farely plug and play. One wire should go into only ONE place. That being said, if you have the dataDots installed, you can mount the ballast under the bracket, thats where mine is stuck on.

if u want the fogs to be even brighter, u can bake the fogs and remove the reflector thats in there, u juts ahve to remove the lense and unscrew it, it makes it alot brighter, illegal but brighter.

My kit is Hi/Lo. It came with only one ballast and one ignitor.

Are you guys talking about the same one?

I have a 01 Max and I was trying to replace the bulb in the fog lights, but I couldn't figure out how to remove the housing. I removed the splash guard from the wheel well and got to the back of the housing and removed one screw but it wouldn't pop out. Is there something that I'm missing?

Thanks for the post, MAXIMU5. But do you know where I can get an exploded view of the fog light removal or a picture of what fasteners that I'm suppose to remove?

Here are a couple of pics where I installed the ballast and ignitor. They are located behind the front bumper below the HID lights.

Its real easy, once you take of the splash guard, i think that is one black clip, one 10mm bolt, and one screw, stick your hand up behind the foglight housing. There are 2 10mm nuts, one is directly above the bulb hole and one is directly below the bulb whole. Once you take those off, just push on the studs and the whole assembly will come out. For better access to the housing, pull the harness plugs off of a clip on the body. An easy way to find it is to follow the bulb wires back and once you reach the clip, pull down on it. Use Zippins how-to thread for the rest, he has great instructions.
